Blind Management

I need to vent right now, so my apologies for using this as my medium.

Just got a call form a co-worker at a different site. 19-20 year old kid straight out of high school. He’s coming up to this site to take over the senior operator position, which is good for him. We’ve been with the company for the same amount of time. The difference? I’m studying to obtain 4th class power engineering certification, he has no interest. I already have a degree in Operations Management, and I’m 29 with a shit load more experience. They give the position to this fucking kid. Don’t get me wrong. I hold nothing against the kid, I’d take it if I were him too. What the fuck are these morons thinking? It infuriates me. Why did he get the position? Cause he fucking complained about shit. I do all the goddamn senior paperwork when I’m on shift, the senior does sweet fuck all, but because I consider it part of the job and don’t go over the senior’s head to management I get looked over? Fucking bullshit.

As the guy who does all the medical management in your field…

he is fucking somebody important or somebodies kid.

Sorry man.

He will be exposed as an incompetent mongoloid in due time. Just do your job to the high standards you have for yourself and your hard work won’t go unnoticed. Just don’t take the low road

That’s the thing. I know that this isn’t the case. I could handle it if it were. That’s how the world works. Shit, he got his dad a job with the company. It’s not cool, but what can I do. Bitch on here I guess. Better than sending emails, I guess.

Take the high road for now, keep your work history perfect and keep doing what you do.

Networking is always important and make sure you are doing that.

How do you know that he is not connected somehow?

Suppose I can’t be 100% sure, but from talking with him and from the gossipy hens I work with, I am quite certain.

Companies like naive young know nothings. They are easy to manipulate and will do twice the work at half the price.
