Bleach…seems shitty. Gantz and Elfen Lied FTW
Word.
Elfen Lied was the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. The only thing that bothered me about that series was some of the toon-nudity was just annoying, and the voice acting was ‘off’ sometimes. I just don’t dig the super girly voices they get sometimes. However, that story was intense and I’ve never been hooked on a series like I was with that. I watched all the episodes in one day!
Regardless, you should try to catch the subbed version. Unless reading subs is totally unappealing to you, as a general rule you should watch subbed instead of dubbed. The original voice actors tend to give a better delivery of the lines, since they were involved in the original production and they have a better sense of what the director wants, their characters’ motivation, and emotional states. The dubbed voices usually seem like an after thought to me.

There’s always exceptions to that rule tho. I just discovered that I like the dub of Black Lagoon for example.

It’s true that the subbed versions are better. However, since I watch my anime in the mornings while eating, dubbed all the way. I’m actually watching Neon Genesis Evangelion subbed, and the difference is way noticable.
Quote form Ep 10 of Berserk. Wanted to save it somewhere. Here will do.
Griffith: Why do men prefer fighting? Men probably have savage minds. But they exist to protect a respectable person and for certain victory.
Charolette: Respectable person? His family and loved ones?
Griffith: Some people think so. But then if he’s really a man he will find something more important. Not for any person but for his very own dream. One will wield a sword for his dream while one has a dream to explore the world and another has a dream of ruling over that world. One is supported by the dream, tortured by the dream, living by the dream, and killing by the dream. Even if one is killed by the dream he would be happy and honored. A real man will have a dream like this in his life. A life that has fulfilled his dream. I cant live simply because I was born. I want to live because I have a dream.
Charolette:…your friends must be fascinated by your ideas.
Griffith: They’re my excellent subordinates. They’re important associates who help make my dream come true. But…they’re not my friends. A friend would never help my dream. A friend is someone who has his own dream and strives to make it come true. And if someone tries to destroy his dream he will try to destroy that person. Even if…that person is myself. For me a friend is someone who is on my level.
That was a lot longer than I had remembered it. Oh well. It still sounded interesting. Now to add this thread to my favorites and I’m good to go.
When I have poison oak I fill the bathtub with ice cold water and a gallon of bleach and just sit in that shit until the fumes start to fuck me up too much. Stings like a motherfucker but a few days of this clears the poison oak up like you wouldn’t believe.

It’s alright. I got sidetracked on it to finish watching Berserk and now I’m onto Claymore instead. Mecha things are just so, meh.
