But as a Gun Carry permit holder we are not allowed that fuck up. Even if we don’t see jail it can cost a life or the lives of many others. For the sake of that neighborhood it’s good it was not a real criminal with a gun. More could have died from that.

My opinion I’m not stating any thing as a fact. YES and I base that on just what I know about people. Trayvon being black was one of the flags for Zimmerman. Now do I think it had any thing to do with his actions after being Suspicious NO that was just Stupidity.
At this point I even admit I sound like a broken record but you just can’t get around the fact that Leaving the safety of your car to follow someone you see as a drugged up youth, who is up to something with something in waistband is Stupid.
To follow this person to the point of losing sight of your car and putting yourself in-between homes with a weapon is reckless.

For a second there I thought this was going to be a biased post - then I read on and saw how Trayvon must have died of broken skin on his knuckles since that was the only injury recorded during the autopsy. Phew!

Zimmerman turned himself in and let the cops know where he was the entire time.
That pretty much indicates “not a flight risk” which is all a bond is for.
Remember, it’s “innocent until proven guilty” in the USA. Bond is not part of the punishment.

It all comes down to who instigated the actual fight.

Doesn’t really matter. People are still going to say Zimmerman had a right to use his gun whoever instigated the fight. My opinion has been all along, that, yes he has a right to defend himself, but he also carries a responsibility not to put himself in a situation where he has to make that call.
One aspect of the case that can’t be disputed is that Zimmerman shouldn’t have been patrolling alone that night, especially when following suspects with unclear motives.
