Black Teen Shot 3

Not in nice neighborhoods in Florida.

Walking (unless pet/baby, very old, or exercising) = low class.

Now, is this a stupid more? Sure. But it is the norm there.

Even 12 year olds drive?

Do you live in this gated community to know what is and isn’t normal there? Not even Zimmerman used the “he was walking” excuse when called 911.
I have, in fact, lived nearby. It’s pretty much the same in any Southern state.

On foot = low class.

Low class = out of place here.

I don’t make the rules, just report them.

LOL @ “walking = low class”.

The normal ones have a mommy or daddy who put them in the minivan and they get driven.

It’s clear you’ve never been to suburbia, but these are the rules of suburbia. It’s why they are all fat.

Yes. It’s a lower class thing to walk.
I can’t agree with this. I own 2 cars and I still walk to places that are less than a mile away. I like walking.
Professor X wrote:

You live in Houston. I go to oil companies all the time there.

There are: (1) “inside” people who drive their cars to parking garages, use the air-conditioned tunnels and sky-ways to go from building to building. They wear suits and ties and fancy shoes and (2) “outside” people who walk the sidewalk drinking Colt 45 and pissing on themselves.

No one middle class or above walks anywhere in Houston, except the jogging paths or around Rice.

As you drive home, go look outside your car and see who is walking on the sidewalk and waiting for the bus. Not pretty.

The first thing a normal person does in Houston (or a place like Florida) is get a car.

Well, you’re abnormal in a place like Florida.

Well, according to the only evidence we have, he was shot because he decided to backtrack and jump the mexican security dude and proceed to pound his head into the pavement.

Jumping people at night is a good way to get shot.

Actually, it is evidence, and according to everything known so far, jives with the physical evidence.

Abnormal maybe.Even in NJ most people will drive if the place is more than a 5 minute walk. They’re lazy. They still wouldn’t think I was low class just because I decided to walk to the store. The walking=low class is a very odd statement.

Except Trayvon was found face down and shot in the chest. Did the witness also see Zimmerman flip the body over, or did he not think of that when he made up his story?
I’m sorry…but why would it be strange that Zimmerman manipulated the body at all after the shot went off?

It says he looked “worried”. Someone like that would check to see if the kid was dead, right?

If he didn’t, does that mean Trayvon died immediately?

The man’s story is not contradicted at all since Trayvon was found face down like he described.
So Zimmerman was on top, shot Trayvon in the chest and then flipped him over on to his stomach? He couldn’t check his pulse if he was lying face up?
He could have checked to see if the bullet passed through. It doesn’t matter. The kid was shot in the chest and found on his back. SOMETHING must have turned him over or he fell that way.

remember, Zimmerman doesn’t seem rational at all so why is this somehow something he can’t do?

LOL at people ignoring how off this man was yet still acting like his choices were perfectly rational and sound.
I thought previous transgressions didn’t matter? Because, you know, Trayvon attacked a bus driver and all.
But he wasn’t carrying a gun.
Irrelevant.
Not really. When you carry a gun you can’t afford to be an idiot. Does anyone really believe that Trayvon would have (let alone could have) killed Zimmerman with his bare hands? Anyone other than Zimmerman?
Death or serious injury so yes.
I should have added anyone without an agenda as well. Now Trayvon goes from a kid walking home with skittles to someone who wanted to kill with his bare hands. You really are trying too hard.
I believe HG was pointing out that one need not necessarily fear death and that serious bodily injury is also grounds for self defense.
Yes and in the event Trayvon attacked Zimmerman which has been the topic of debate, or so I thought.
No, you were implying that Zimmerman carrying a deadly weapon was somehow the same as Trayvon carrying his…fists. In other words: Zimmerman was a hothead. Oh yeah, so was Trayvon. Zimmerman however was a hothead with a gun. Trayvon was a hothead with hands. I don’t think anyone would say that they cancel each other out. The one with the gun, for his own protection let alone the safety of others, should carry more burden to behave rationally.
You just read what I was implying. I appreciate your projection though.

Following your rabbit hole just for fun and based on evidence corroborating the story being discussed, Zimmerman was attacked by Martin and drew his weapon in self defense, not a hot headed decision to murder; making the gun he was carrying irrelevant to your point of two hot headed dudes getting in to some ego fueled tussle ending in murder.

At least pretend to have half a head in the ongoing conversation.
You can follow down the “your rabbit hole just for fun and based on evidence corroborating the story being discussed” but don’t disregard said evidence. Zimmerman followed Martin, and based on his voice on the 911 calls the general consensus can agree he ran after him. Now if being a hothead is defined as a hasty or impetuous person (the free dictionary), then both parties can be determined hotheads based on the evidence. But Zimmerman’s police report says Negligent Homicide/Unnecessary killing. This event is something that Zimmerman precipated by (self-admittedly) following the boy. You can go down as many rabbit holes as you’d like, but that is still evidence. Please try to keep in context.
This has been discussed ad nauseum. There is nothing illegal about following a person or asking questions. Nobody has denied Zimmerman followed Martin. The issue will be who was attacked by whom. There are 2.5 threads titled “Black Teen Shot” discussing this, go back and find your context.

You’re from the NE. It’s normal for kids (and others) to walk. Florida, not so.

Again, I don’t make the rules, but it’s the truth.

Unless you’ve lived in a suburbia like this, you just don’t know.

Places like Florida — 100% humidity, 100 degrees, spread out suburban sprawl, good parking — no one walks ANYWHERE.

Even the retirement communities (the “Vil-a-ges, America’s Friendliest Hometown”) everyone has fancy golf carts.

Everyone is killing the messenger here, but, I am 100% God’s-honest-truth, that, in a gated community, a pedestrian at night is a very, very odd thing.

100% chance of a 911 call being made unless there is a baby carriage, dog, or jogging clothes.
