It’s true. Most of them even voted him into office just so they hate on a black man in a position of power.

…or it could be just that those whites are in the opposing political party and are doing what they’ve always done.

I am white and grew up in the suburbs in the US as well as overseas for a short period. I moved to an inner city a few years ago where I also worked in the public schools. Prior to that I had worked, but not lived, in another inner city public school system. I moved back to the suburbs, for many reasons, the main one being I wanted my kid to go to a better, safer school and live in a better, safer community. Fortunately, I had that option.

Based on my experience I can say, without a doubt, that the system is stacked against kids in the inner cities. In the suburbs the system is designed to help you succeed while in the inner cities it is designed to make you fail. In know this as I was part of the system.
You’re full of shit. Lots of family members work in the public school system from teaching to administrative roles. Some in the suburbs some in Title One (ghetto) schools. Title one schools get far more support for tools used to encourage kids to pursue education, pass various tests, learn how education plays in to careers et cetera plus the standard curriculum, up to state and college par.

You are making shit up or deranged. Absolutely Hale Bopping. The attitude of the students (choice) makes the difference. School just isn’t “street”. Make your bed.
You’re probably right. I mean, why believe someone who lived and worked there when they could believe someone whose opinion is based on what he wants to believe to be true because he fears disrupting his preconceived view of the world. Reality is a scary thing which is why it should be avoided at all costs. I learned the hard way. We should all strive to be as blissfully ignorant as you.
You’re full of shit. The “system” is not slanted to keep the poor down and you know it. The “system” gives the poor extra entitlements above and beyond a standard education.

People make an opportunity what they will and if they let it sit, fuck 'em. The “system” doesn’t screw people at all. People screw themselves and the “no sense in trying, just give up before you start” mentality is the enemy.

Yeah, I wouldn’t have liked a white democrat either.

Forced healthcare, tax payer bailouts for failed corporations, sinking govt money in to multiple failed businesses, failing to actually alleviate oil costs by increasing supply and in fact reducing home drilling…

He’s just a shitty leader. Like a kid with a dream journal but no real plan. Nothing to do with his skin at all.

Are the black people in this thread for real right now? Is this real life? Is that really what you are up in arms about?

Deep Sigh I posted the Tyler Perry link just to highlight how racially charged we’ve become as a country these past months. Maybe I should have done it all as one post…but the last post in that series ended with me saying “WOW America is really racially charged…”

I also do not care for his films. hahaha does anyone like Tyler Perry on Tnation???
As far as the racial profiling, I believe Tyler had his “situation” turn out like it did because (according to him) the cops were over accusative and for being one of the richest men in Atlanta THEY HAD NO CLUE WHO HE WAS. So you think Tyler Perry deserves preferential treatment because he’s a celebrity? Or the cops should have recognized a guy who dresses in women’s clothing in half of his movies?

Look dude, if I got pulled over for doing something incredibly dangerous and I told the cops I think people are following me, they are going to think I am up to something.

White people don’t get pulled over and high five the cops, talk about how awesome being white is, and then go about our business.

Stuff like this the real enemy right here. The liberal media stirring up racial tensions for ratings and page views.

A lot of people can see through it, but then you’ve got the bottom half of the bell curve who will take it to extremes.

What the fuck does any of that have to do with more than fair education entitlements and “the system”?

Shot at for going to a different shop? Like that is a daily occurrence.

Yeah, most of my friends use or have used drugs, some are absolutely addicted. Rich kids use drugs too. Better drugs.

You should’ve seen how many guns were at school during hunting season though I realize a different intent. Guns in the ghetto are typically aimed at gangs by gangs, yahoos intentionally making poor choices. I realize crossfire happens but have you heard of Columbine? Virginia Tech and various other schools where murder was indiscriminate and unbaited?

I don’t doubt kids with shitty parents have a harder time in life but it isn’t “the system”, a lack of opportunity or white people which is what I said. And yes, even if you have shitty parents you can still decide to move forward. Even if you fucked up as a kid. But, again, self improvement takes more work than settling in to excuses. Cry me a fucking river.

But sometimes no matter how nicely you are dressed, no matter what nice car you drive just cuz you’re Black you’re automatically up to no good.
While that is likely true in some cases… How on earth do you get that out of the Perry thing? The cops were over-accusative? Where?

Do you actually think that the Cops not knowing who Perry is has something to do with racial profiling? HOW?

FFS at least try to look at the situation from their point of view for once…
Granted he was driving like a moron but the cops could have been more tactfull (in this situation) in their approach.
Police treat me no different… And that is despite never even breaking the speed limit or driving and acting like Perry did. Most people could use a little more tact. Thing is, police are under no obligation to be more tactful. They are there to enforce the law. And this guy raised plenty of alarm bells with the way he bahaved, while driving and after.
You have no need to lecture me on what cops do routinely…I have enough family in Law Enforcement for that.
In that case, how come you don’t understand why the officers would be worried and act the way they did given the dangerously driving guy who does not elaborate further beyond saying that he wants to shake of possible pursuers? Why do you automatically assume racial bias?
What do you think would have happened to a white person in that situation? (driving dangerously with no apparent justification and acting strangely without proper explanation while confronted by the officers)
And If being socially concious of my enviroment around me makes me a pussy…well we are what we are…LMAO
Stop confusing issues on purpose already…
I always look at it from their point of view because like I said I have family close to me put in dangerous situations every day. I just think certain situations deserve a little more understanding from their point of view. I’m not saying he should’ve gotten away without a ticket. That’s up to the officer’s discretion and he did a bone headed thing in traffic.

Look I’m not saying that he should’ve been given the world in that situation. He’s a nicely dressed dude in a nice car, I would’ve used caution but I would’ve just been like …it’s ok sir, slow down just explain yourself…in a calm level headed manner, still on my ps and qs. Sometimes cops come flying out of the gate berating and trying to turn the situation into what it’s not.

I think a white person in that situation would’ve been treated in a similar fashion, except the benefit of the doubt would be in the officers mind whereas the Black guy is automatically a criminal. Oh he’s in a nice car is it stolen? IDK I do think the race card is pulled to quick too often, but that doesn’t make me pull the wool over my eyes and say it doesn’t happen or doesn’t exsist.

Iron Dwarf my dislike for Obama is because wfter I voted for him he accomplished nothing he was supposed to. Plus he signed into laws which make it legal to indefinitely detain U.S. citizens and did not have the guts to tell congress and the army that they could not assassinate american citizens. Plus he said he would close down guantanamo and he never did. He failed me in everything I wanted him to do for us.

The difference between you and I…is I never expect any president to be able to completely make over our government. The people truly in power are likely not the media fronts.

I dislike our overpowering two party system. It sucks and turns politics into a proverbial football game when most of the country is likely average or below average intelligence.

Laws get made, very few get taken away…and I think that is fucked up as far as our own freedoms and liberties are concerned.

Our system will likely eventually fail as long as people adhere to that type of thinking.

I want my own freedom to do what I please with my own body as long as is it hurts no one else.

What party do I sign up for that to happen?

Where has he done a great job?

Of course no presidents have a 100% approval rating. Does that mean all the white people who hated Bush are racist? Nope. Doesn’t even make sense.

And I know I’m on a tangent for another’s post but I’m sorry, a racial group who makes up a tiny portion of the voting populous will not single handedly elect anybody. A shit ton of white people voted for Obama.

Unemployment not rising above 8%, not passing a budget in three years, coming on the verge of losing our triple A credit rating… Yeah some people can’t handle the fact that some people don’t think he is the greatest president this country has ever seen so they call them racists. Like overstand said, bottom half of the bell curve lol.
Just like any president I think he has done a great job with some things and a terrible job with others…wether or not I vote for him to retain office is going to be hingent upon if any canidate offers anything better.

The whole follow through with Bin Laden was good in my opinion…the way he handled the situation. I don’t believe he can take full credit for something that Bush set into motion but when the time came I believe his dealings with the situation were spot on.

You’re full of shit. The “system” is not slanted to keep the poor down and you know it. The “system” gives the poor extra entitlements above and beyond a standard education.

Such as? A free lunch? Explain how I could have 18 year old seniors who could barely read. Who exactly was passing them? More importantly, why? You say you know people who are involved in inner city school systems and they say everything is fine on their end. Yeah, I don’t doubt they would say that as they don’t want to admit they are failing. Administrators are the worst offenders because they are basically politicians who only care about stats and numbers, not actually educating someone. I am no longer there so I am not afraid to tell the truth about what goes on.
LOL! Every school has retards. The entitlements are public info, free to see. Plenty of inner city kids who choose to care move to better stations in life. Helpless retards don’t count, in any district.
You are being ridiculous.

“The System” hangs on what came before it. “The System” was the same one paying the parents of children in the late 70’s and 80’s less money than their white counterparts. Many of these issues weren’t even resolved until the 90’s. Your take on things would be like wondering why the children of abusive homes often grow up to be abusive parents themselves.

Plenty of inner city kids today are still dealing with issues that are the aftermath of a country literally designed to keep blacks from succeeding…things that go beyond just the school system and go as deep as the psyche of those involved.

In time, those issues will fade as long as there is a growing desire to change the situation as well as the knowledge of HOW…which does not land on someone out the blue. It is a nurtured concept.

You are the way you are because your parents were the way they were as well as environment issues. Overcoming all of that is not done in one generation.

THIS is the reason racism is such an issue right now. Whites will try to make all kinds of stupid excuses why they hate Obama (socialist, Nazi, communist, lefty, liberal, Muslim, etc), but the real reason is they hate the idea of a black man in a high position making decisions for our nation.
Don’t be stupid. 43% of whites voted for Obama in 08 as opposed to 5% of blacks that voted for McCain. I know it’s hard to beleive, but some people actually DO disagree with his policies and not his skin color. Lefty and liberal are not racist comments btw, and go look back at what people called Bush. The problem is the peeple that turn every criticism into a race issue when it is not.

“They” also say he is one of the best foreign relations president we’ve had.
