Black Teen Shot 2

^^ Holy shit. Well, the Panthers can lynch him and I’m sure Eric Holder will look the other way.

Did y’all see where the author of the Florida stand your ground law said emphatically that the law would not apply to Zimmerman because he pursued Martin?
Yep!
Does not matter.

It is not about what he intended, but what courts make of it.

Separation of powers and all.
True, but I have a hard time believing a jury will not agree that the stand your ground law does not apply if you follow an underage kid down the street at night and don’t even identify yourself.
Agreed. I would feel I have a right to protect myself if someone chases me down the street…especially if after I ask why all I get is another question of what I am doing there.

Zimmerman’s life is at risk and he is in hiding now with his family. He had no authority to chase people and corner them.
Either way (prison or freedom) his life is fucked.

Can’t say I have an once of sympathy, though.

EDIT to add… THIS JUST IN!

Looks like Zimmerman should buy more guns and lots of bullets!

Thats not right either. I hope he will be arrested and tried for murder but being lynched is not the right way to go about it.

Also its a little bit ironic.

Did not read link.

Am I close?

Agree.

Wait I thought Zimmerman was the one yelling for help. This doesn’t sound like Zimmerman.

That doesn’t sound like someone older. Either way, it doesn’t seem like “stand your ground” is going to help him here. We KNOW he chased after Trayvon and we have his girl’s testimony that he even asked Zimmerman why. Zimmerman escalated a situation from something that could have been very benign to the events that led to death. I really don’t see how you can claim to be the victim when the person you corner finally stops running.

I agree with this…and like has been stated, they could face charges if something actually does happen to Zimmerman.

Because following someone is simply not illegal but attacking is. The case will boil down to who attacked who. Witness testimony so far supports Zimmerman.

I’m a wait a d see all the facts guy, but I’m so surprised at how some of the same people arguing about due process convicted Joe Paterno without all the info and facts.

You people are useless.

Name names or STFU. The “some of you” comments are for pussies.

Yup… useless is about right.

Has his girlfriend made a sworn statement? I thought the only statement she has made thus far has been through the family attorney - that’s not quite the same as an official sworn statement under oath.

Swole,

I DID answer your question, it just didn’t show up until earlier today.

It’s on the previous page.

I think this guy just assumes all black people are druggies? Or all people wearing saggy pants are druggies? He makes a big assumption about “punks”. This kid, while wearing saggy pants, was obviously not a punk. His grades were good. And as ppl have stated already, schools are cracking down hard and over-disciplining for stupid infractions.
I think this pic is relevant here.

Read the facebook exchange, the kid was selling weed.
In the context of the shooting, this isn’t relevant.

In the context of having unfounded assumptions eventually pan out in the light of greater evidence, and in particular when you consider the number of people who have already begun the process of patting themselves on the back for being vindicated in their hasty conclusions over this case, it is a little bit funny.

It also does a heckuva lot to show the spin this story has on it.

People are missing the fact that Zimmerman STILL went after Trayvon for no reason other than, “he looked suspicious” because his hoodie was up and his hands on his pockets. He was not in any position to carry a loaded weapon to confront this guy and the 911 dispatcher clearly instructed him not to do so.

This kid’s life would not have been lost had Zimmerman not have a false sense of Authority. Shit, even the dispatcher had more Authority than him (being an unofficial “Watchman”).

Bad kid or not, nothing was found on him. And even if the kid did attack Zimmerman, it was out of self-defense. You would do the same if a stranger followed you for no fucking reason.

And why would you yell “help” if you were getting the better of someone else. That to me clearly paints a picture of Trayvon on the ground yelling for help, with Zimmerman having a choice to just subdue the kid but chose instead to shoot him in cold blood.

That assumption implies the two witnesses who saw Trayvon sitting on top of Zimmerman are lying.

Zimmerman is guilty. Just look at his face, you know he is an idiot.

The Hoodie Agenda

…
Still, Rivera chose to focus on another aspect of Martinâ??s death that he believes could have changed the outcome.

â??Trayvon Martin, God bless him, an innocent kid, a wonderful kid, a box of Skittles in his hands. He didnâ??t deserve to die. But I bet you money, if he didnâ??t have that hoodie on, that nutty neighborhood watch guy wouldnâ??t have responded in that violent and aggressive way," Rivera said.
Wow
