Blair Witch made money because they marketed the shit out of it through the internet. Everyone thought it was a documentary, and the website with “crime scene photos” and manufactured local lore lent itself to the idea it was real. I’ll state, I read about it in Fangoria and new it was fake. I saw it in the theaters and I still want my 8 bucks back.
