And this morning I woke up with some hives on my sides and thigh that have since spread. Apparently I’m allergic to something, but I have no clue what. And I feel absolutely awful despite the corticosteroids and anti-itch stuff. Ugh.

Very impressive squatting!

Walking uphill both ways, eh? Clever, aren’t you?

I sure hope the hives subside quickly. That sucks.

Thanks lady!

Not clever. Totally serial. The campus is not far from the mountains so the region is very hilly. No matter where you are going you will end up walking up hill.

shot + prednisone + anti-itch stuff seems to be doing the trick. It seems that you have to be asleep for them to work though.

Benadryl!!!

Makes you so sleepy you don’t really care. I broke out in hives a couple years ago day after Christmas…not fun!

Hope it gets better.

Good job on that squat pr, not a bad looking cardio workout either.

MIM - When I told the doc that I had been taking Benadryl all day and that it was helping keep things under control but still wasn’t doing enough her response was “doesn’t that make you drowsy?” It was, but I didn’t know what else to do. So she tells me she’ll give me something better than Benadryl. Turns out “better than benadryl” actually means “will knock you out in 15 minutes flat”.

EndersDrift - Thanks! cardio = blech.

I’m a little behind schedule, but I finally got my 5/3/1 DL in today.

Conditioning was a heavily modified (weak) version of Crossfit’s “Nasty Girls” (the real WOD calls for 3 rounds of 50 squats, 7 muscle ups and 10 hang cleans at 135)
squat x50
pullups x7
hang clean 65x10
3 rounds in ~12 minutes

Congrats on the DL PR! Now lets see a meet sometime in the future!?

Meh. I’m in no hurry to prep for another meet. I’m kind of enjoying this relatively open setup I have at the moment. Works with my wacky school/work schedule and it allows me to do stupid stuff when I feel like it.

Next meet will probably be in late winter/spring. I know some people compete because they love the sport. I compete because I love PRs. Meets are fun but I don’t need to pay $100 for 3 judges to tell me that my PR was good.

Did some cardio today.

spin bike
3 minute warm up
15 minutes of intervals
3 min cool down

treadmill
17 minutes w/THR ~ 70-80%

SH and I were supposed to meet up with friends at a local xfit gym. I had no clue what the workout was going to be and wasn’t really going there to workout, but I ended up doing it anyway.

“cindy”
5 pullups (band)
10 pushups (hand release)
15 BW squats
AMRAP in 20 minutes = 12

Dude leading the class wanted to make sure I had the exercises down before we got started so he demoed squats and checked my form…lulz.

nice work on the deads. glad you kicked those allergies.

No more allergy issues, but I’m still feeling pretty yucky. Tummy hasn’t been very happy lately and I’ve just been kind of bleh. SH thinks its the meds. I’m all done with them now so we’ll see.

Did my deload squats yesterday. And then I decided I didn’t have it in me to do anything else. Probably not a bad decision for a deload week.

I always say sometimes you gotta learn when to fold. Now I need to practice that.

lol. I have trouble with that too. I was actually helping a friend bench today and she finished one set and said that it felt like her boob was going to pop. I told her to call it there, but she decided to add 10 lbs and try to match a previous PR…I think we all have problems.

I think its time for a little more structure in my training. The goals are the same that they’ve always been: to get bigger and stronger, but I’ve been getting bored with the accessory work lately. Its like I keep trying to find different things to do and have run out of ideas. I guess its time to get a more specific short term goal to work towards.
