Bitch, Please!

Woman, you be crazy.

Nice work.

Here is a cute baby clapping for you.

Video:

And I would also like to point out that I managed to pull the first 31 within the first minute. And it took another minute to pull the last 9.

40 freaking deadlifts in 2:00…why anyone would WANT to try that, is beyond me. Now…I’ll have to give them a shot…maybe, haha. Nice work BG, way to push through that shit!!

Some dude made a thread about it in PW. He posted the video of Molly (mmgalb) doing 54 in two minutes. She won the challenge.

It just sounded brutal and I’ve been wanting to do something stupid in the gym lately. I figured it would be fun to see how many I could do, especially considering I rarely pull more than 5 reps.

I think you hitched the last one… better start over. Nice work. I’m going to try after the meet. Stuff like that appeals to the masochist in me.

The ugliest I did was MP first to 100. I only used the bar but like the 155 deadlift, by the end, it felt heavy as crap. My guy said I was crying in my sleep over my shoulders.

You’re fucking awesome, that was a good challenge.

Damnit Vince, I might have to kidnap him

DF- that gif didn’t show the last time I was in here. That baby is so cute. Thanks, dude.

Red lighted by the IPF lifter. What a surprise

I talked to Stronghold about adding in some of that masochistic conditioning type stuff for a 3-4 week training block. Lifting heavy is “my thing”, but I like the challenge of things like that, or some of those crossfit type circuits. It will be fun to change things up for a bit.

lol! Sore shoulders/upper back make it so hard for me to sleep, so I can imagine what 100 reps did to you.

I tried to kidnap Vince many times, but it never worked. You’re just going to have to move down here like I did if you want to see him.

And ref now too. I red light my guy when he sits on the toilet. Good times.

ohp
45x10
65x5
75x5
85x5

super set 1
chins mini x5x4
push ups 10x4

super set 2
db rows 50x15x3
db curl 20x10x3 (or 25?)

Da Ropes (“tabata” 20 on/10 off for 4 minutes)
switched between 2 hand slams and alternating waves

Ropes were brutal.

I’m going to have to scale back my OHP max. Thought 100 would be ok but apparently, not training OHP since late May lead to me losing strength (who woulda thunk?). I also feel like I’m struggling a little with back work which is the other thing that got drastically cut back in the last month or two of meet prep. I know that’s how it goes and to be expected, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little pissed anyway.

Plans have also changed a little bit again(ugh). My main lifts will be set up using the 5/3/1 rep scheme. I’ll start fresh next week and use these as my training maxes:

Squat- 220 (or f sq- 145)
Bench- 130
Dl- 245
OHP- 85

Assistance will be heavy and there will be specific workouts (after or on off days) dedicated to conditioning work. I hope to take this approach for at least a 4 week block and try to drop a few pounds and then we’ll reassess and take it from there. Gotta get back on the IF wagon too.

The DL video was awesome. What a challenge. How did your muscles feel the next day or two?

Oh hai!

Thanks! Glutes and hams are still sore. Deadlifting doesn’t usually get me like those did, but I’m pretty sure RDLs have gotten me worse in the past. I’m not exactly feeling great, but I expected to feel a little worse actually.

So you did it. Good job.

And I don’t want to be one of those people that uses their weight as an excuse for their mediocre strength. I’m not saying that relative strength is meaningless, but in this case, if you’re strong, 155 should not be too heavy to rep out, whether you weigh 110 or 170.

I’m the first to admit that my strength is mediocre at best. One of these days I’ll do the 155 challenge.

that challenge is ridic stupid. well done

what’s IF challenge?

Try it out sometime snap! I think it would be pretty badass to see you bang out some reps like that. Being that its what? like, 1.5x bw for you? You may not be looking to beat girls like Molly, but I think there is something to be said about someone your size that can pull that 10, 20, 30 times. Does that make sense?

Obviously the point of the challenge, when they put it out, was to see who could do the most and a large strong woman would have an advantage. But at the same time, its still cool to see a smaller strong woman do the same challenge and bust her ass. She may end up with fewer total reps, which is was the challenge is about, but the intensity and the effort is still there. A “strong” woman should be able to rep out 155, but BW still comes into play. Its not the same for a 110lb woman and a 170lb woman to pull 30 reps.

Spanks!

IF=intermittent fasting. I’m not sure that I referred to it as a challenge, but that’s probably pretty darn accurate for me.

Diet has been. Uh, well, um. Nonexistent.

you said wagon - my mistake.

and fuck diets. fuck em with a rusty iron hook dregged out of 100 feet of cold salty sea water.

amen.

FUCK DIETS!! (through a mouthful of french fries)

also, love your vid. I can totally feel your pain… at 25…26…

but seriously, have you found that sticking to a diet makes you stronger?

N & Bre- Agreed. Thats why I had a chocolate chip cookie for dessert today. mmmm.

I’ve found that sticking to a diet keeps me from feeling like a fat bloated piece of shit. I wouldn’t say that what I was doing a while back was contributing to my strength but it didn’t seem to be taking anything away despite favorable changes in body comp.

I posted what I was doing a while back but I don’t remember when or where and don’t expect anyone else to dig it up either. Originally I was shooting for 1250 cals, low carb on my 3 off days and 2100, high carb on training days. Eventually upped my off day cals. I’ll probably do something similar to what I was doing but may have to tweak it since I’ll be doing some conditioning type stuff too.

And so the fun begins… 5/3/1: cycle 1, 5 week, front squats (145)

front squat
45x10x2
95x5
110x5
125x15 (whored out)

BBB ft squat (narrow, beltless)
75x10x3

GM (beltless)
95x10x3
pull down abs
65x12x3

HILL SPRINTS 5 trips, back to back

A couple things:
Most people have issues with being “quad dominant”. Not me. I’m “posterior chain dominant”. This is not news, its just that as a PLer, I don’t really think this is a problem. I’m pretty darn strong squatting the way I do and that’s what matters. I do, however, recognize that my training tends to neglect my quads which means that I’m possibly missing out on greater strength gains and bigger/prettier legs, and may be setting myself up for future health issues.

This is one of the reasons I’m going to focus on front squats rather than back squats for a while. 5/3/1 sets are done with my usual outside of shoulder width stance, and I’m going to try to use the BBB sets to do form work with a narrow stance. I hope to eventually bring my stance in more, but I literally cannot do more than a quarter squat with a narrow stance because of mobility issues. lol.

By the time I finished with all those front squats, my quads were burning. Not something I’m used to feeling.

It was between back xts and GMs. I’m not sure about the GMs. They felt ok but I didn’t feel them in my glutes/hams as much as I do with weighted back xt. I might switch to those.

Hills were not as brutal as I expected. I do, however, need to get some cleats or something because my Sambas weren’t cutting it in the hard, dry ground.

/novel

So why the switch to 5/3/1?
