Nope - me neither. I just meant that after years of lifting, being better than average is the lowest bar possible, so it doesn’t do anything for me to hear that.
You’re not, though. You’re way above what the average person is. The fact that you’re relatively unimpressed with yourself in this manner means we agree though - being better than average ain’t nothin’ to write home about, it’s just a consequence of showing up and lifting. In America, the bar for average in terms of physique and activity is REALLY low, too.
I’m a bit late to the party, but I wanted to wait until I could get a wingspan measurement during a tux fitting. It looks like dchris has competition because my wingspan is also 82 inches. I’m 80 inches tall, and the arm’s 18.5.
If you watch the video, there are a lot of good take-aways. Like 69% of Americans think they are physically fit vs 13% actually being. The guy discussed how poor the shape the average American is in.
My comment about feeling good about yourself was tongue in cheek. I’m sorry to those who took it literally.
I know, dude. I didn’t take offense to it or take your statement literally - just thought it was a good conversation starter on the topic of, “Is ‘above average’ a big deal?” But certainly didn’t mean to crap on you about it. It ended up being a decent discussion.
Nope. I might have sounded a little snooty about my indifference, but I meant no offense and I know you were just making a fun comment in a fun topic. I just took it elsewhere and treated it a bit more seriously, but again - apologies if I came off like a jerk there. Didn’t mean to.
Nonsense. We on team orangutan just have to work a bit harder than everyone else. Give it some time, especially if you’ve only recently started focusing on your arm work.
Bicep curls were definitely part of my very first routine with my parents plastic dumbbells when I was 14. Don’t think I’ve ever run a program without them.
My biceps are crazy sore right now and I have no idea why. Maybe I had bent elbows during deadlifts? Has anyone gotten sore bi’s from lots of front squats?
Weird.
Well biceps are involved in shoulder flexion so lots of front squats, if you’re not that used to it, and a bit tight could do this. Could be the bar wasn’t resting at the best place and could have pressed on the tendons.
If you had already some inflamation/pain in your elbows for instance front squats would certainly make things worse
