Maher is pro-government managed health care. That is not a libertarian (or Libertarian) idea in the least.
In the posted video Maher is calling out Obama to make socialism happen more quickly!!

and prostitution…and gambling…and gay marriage…just not on economic policy matters which is where the crux of libertarianism lies.

You really aren’t playing with a full deck are you? I really hope your joking and I just missed it.
Let’s leave aside whether it’s even a good idea or not (it’s not). Let’s just talk about money. There is no fucking way on God’s green earth that we can afford that right now or for the foreseeable future. That amount of spending is simply not feasible.
You are allowed to disagree, just my opinion. I believe the Ins. Companies are making too much profit on the whole thing as we know it. You do know where that profit comes from?
Profit drives free market business. It provides jobs. Are you promoting unemployment? Are you promoting spending on credit?
Is profit evil to you?
Profit is the excess of the money spent
The excess of what?

what the costs were

yeah, it comes from the productivity of the employees and assets of the company.
Insurance companies are basically banks today and banks are Insurance companies. It is a big Goat fuck. There are no mechanics, it is all shuffling paper and creating wealth.
So what?
As long as they are creating wealth?
they are creating wealth at your expense (maybe not yours)but any body that has medical ins.

Everybody would make a wage, maybe not the best system, but I believe it to be better than the INS companies running everything.
So then what you’re telling me is that I should start discouraging my son from going to medical school since there will be no incentive for him to try and cure cancer, for example.
You don’t get it do you?
he can still cure cancer, and it would be more likly to get to the masses because everbody would be able to afford it, and not just those with agood Med Ins. Plan

then you have smart guys not wanting to be doctors. We go full socialized, I will shut down my office and go do something else.
You really have no clue.

Maher is not a libertarian, he just wants legal pot, which is liberal. Not liberatarian means in other ways.

You may do so and it may discourage some smart people not to go into medicine . but over all I believe Doctors could make more profit and people could pay less money because no one has to pay the profit of the Ins. company

No, I PAY FOR A FUCKING SERVICE I choose to have, and I receive service from my medical insurance. I supposed you see all grocery costs as a tax from a big, evil corporation?
You then would rather have 1 single source of payout for all your needs and services…and it be the government? That’s the road to dependance and tyranical socialism.

Supply and demand dude. Do you honsetly think a somker with advanced health issues should pay less or equal to the guy who is healthy and did not make the same bad choices as customer A?? I HAVE gotten insurance with a pre existing condition myself. What’s your point?

Every time you type you prove to us more and more that you have communist ideals.
Let me ask you 2 questions:
-Is social security being run well or is it broke?
-Is Medicare running well or is it on the brink of being broke?
Let’s add universal healthcare to that, but this time it will be full of hope…and…(please help me finish this statement)

They’re supposed to be providing a service at the same time, not merely creating wealth.
and for a fuck lot of people, they’re not providing the service they claim to be and are really just robbing them.
creating wealth is fine and dandy when you provide a reasonable service.

Caught me by surprise, but I don’t necessarily disagree with him.
Even when he trying not to be a douche, he still comes off as a douche. I guess douche-i-ness is inherent in Maher’s genes. Either that or he has inhaled so many of his own farts and sniffed his dirty underwear so much that his brain is permanently warped from the noxious odors.
Seriously though, what compels a man to sniff his own farts and underwear? Is it a rare and extreme form of narcissism? Mental disorder? Chemical imbalance? I guess we will never know.
I think Maher and Jon Stewart have fart and underwear sniffing parties together, where they both induldge in their love of their own anal odor. I think Maher has a gas mask type of device attatched to a hose that he inserts in his own anal cavity that allows him to smell his farts while he is sleeping. He got the instructions on how to make one from Jon Stewart.
I read an article a few years ago, it was an interview with a hooker that Maher picked up one night. Or maybe she was a stripper… I don’t recall. I’ll try to find it. Anyway, the girl went into detail about having sex with Maher, and how disgusting it was. It was fucking hilarious. According to her Maher has a tiny dick, can only fuck for a minute or so, and only in one really awkward missionary type position. He has really sick weirdo fetishes too.
Maybe Maher likes to shit on himself or something. I certainly wouldn’t be surprised at all.
Oh well. Even when I agree with Maher, which happens more often than I would like to admit, I still hate his guts and wish for him to die slowly in a flaming pit of dog shit.

thats the irony of it all. a lot of the time people with advanced health issues either dont have insurance, but you still pay for their care since ERS have to treat them. Or they use millions of dollars worth of treatments on their deathbed that will save them maybe 1% of the time, probably less, and you still pay for it through increased insurance costs. You pay for it either way.
We already have pretty basic socialized medicine here, in the sense that only some people have to pay for other people (decently well off people like on this board) but its just horrendously run by cooperation among insurance companies, drug companies and a lot of politicians.
Im not sure a full government solution is going to be better, maybe this governement competitor program will be, but i can’t think of a single decent reason someone would prefer the current system we have. More than half a hospitals costs is paper shuffling. Its absurd.
(btw i have a very very nice policy, but can still recognize the system is fucked)
I am curious of what everybody would say to do away with public education and create companies to find land, build schools, hire teachers and staff, maintain landscape and buildings and allow them to make a profit. How many people think we would have a better system than we do now? I would bet we pay twice as much and get half of what we get now. And the corporations we pay would be smoking wealthy, and they would be part of the right wing which would have itâ??s puppets saying Oh we need to keep our education private, it does not matter that only half of the kids in America get an education, it does not matter that all these private corporations do is add on profit to every thing they pay for.
