On the bright side, they will end feminism for you.

If they end Facebook too, fuck it, I am in.

Wait, they forbid alcohol…

Out again.

You did not read that entire chapter did you? Maybe you should stop taking verses out of context or writing atheist talking points.

Got anything else? Please use the title “Spaghetti Monster in the Sky”. That is my favorite.

The Koran states very plainly convert them to Islam or kill the infidel.
They did not do that.

They taxed em.

Who is they?

Ze ebil Muzleems?

There was not much killing going on.

I thought the end of the bible is this whole thing about how the peaceful, cheek turning savior comes back to rip judgment across those who are not followers and or “sinners”??? aka non believers?

What about:
Deuteronomy 17
If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant; 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; 17:4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel; 17:5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

or

In Luke 19:27, Jesus says:

Those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them, bring them here and kill them in front of me.

This is what I mean by hell Christians, those Christians who believe that others who do not live as pure as they should die and burn in hell. You know the ones that talk to you like their god, like they live perfect lives, and you are a lost degenerate who Christ as abandoned and should die forever. You’ve met these right?

Although, through research it seems like Deuteronomy is the most fucked up section in the bible. Talking about banging horses and stuff…goodness…

Depends on when and where. You know that.
Yes, but when and where did they do the convert or die on a massive scale?

I just want to say, the men of the first crusade ate a village after Antioch.

And I am not referring to that villages resources either.

Literally, the village, as in, the people of that village.

Apparently, children make good eaiting.

So, that whole religion thing…

There are people, there are circumstances, there are stories they tell to themselves.

And that is all there is.

And I know, the Bible did not command this, whereas he Q´ran did not command that…

Well, as human beings we can selectively ignore a lot and Muslim conquerors did not eat peoples children.

This is not even close to being as clear cut as some people would want it to be.

Ahtheists are the only group that sees fit to criticize and critique books they never read. You can pull these same quotes and critiques off of any the atheist propaganda web sites.

Remeber when I said that atheists all say the same things? Case-in-point, right here.

It would be advisable to stick with things you know about, not things you don’t. You clearly don’t know what the Bible says or what Christianity teaches.

Pat: Good point but this is what is done throughout religions and their associated texts. If we do the same thing for the Koran, which most people have, right? They are just a religious group that preaches poisoning waters, blowing people up, spreading hate, etc etc because we pulled a few verses out and read them the way we wanted to read them.

People can do the same thing for almost any religion (expect maybe Buddhism?) These kinds of crazy ass quotes exist throughout texts. That is my point, a lot of people have not really studied Islam, just heard some shit through the grape vine and make opinions through that. It also just bothers me that Old/New testament followers think they are fucking perfect and everyone else is the devil.

If these things aren’t “taught” by Christianity or the Bible then why do so many believe it to be this way?

I can’t let you skate away easy on that one ‘‘pusharder’’…BABEL is not the origin for the different races of people…that’s horseshit unless you can prove that from Scripture…language and race are two completely different things, so please don’t attempt to tie those
two in a pretty little bow without Scriptural back up…Languages were changed, but change of flesh was not mentioned whatsoever,
and far be it from scripture to omit a concurrent confusion at Babel where all of a sudden people LOOKED different as well.
That’s theory, not fact backed up by the Bible.
There is NOTHING in Scripture that sez people in an instant at Babel had their flesh changed in various color shades and
epicanthic folds suddenly appeared around people’s eyes in addition to the confusion of languages, how would the instant
change of races confuse in and of it itself in the first place?
Different races are beautiful and diverse, so please don’t give us the theory that this beautiful diversity was
a direct result of angering the lord.
Try again, or just admit that you do not know how exactly the races were differentiated, unless you back it
up with scripture.

Why do people feel compelled to discuss my pecker.
Because it is so little:)

Everyone should watch the film Religulous. There is the constant that all people who are invested emotionally in any religion from the time of infancy will condescend to anyone with a thought differing from their own about human/universe origin. It is the way of the group mind to vilify and condemn all that contradict them.

Religion has been great for the masses and still is because they don’t want to think or want to commit themselves to a non-ending dissection of etymologies and invented meanings to justify their thinking and actions. God is certainly not dead because the tree that fell in the forest was deaf.

I personally feel if there is a God he would want me to study his operating system . I personally feel Religion would be ANTI GOD (anti Christ)

Funny thing, though. You don’t see many christians on here villifying the atheists. It has been my short experience that the condescending hatred is pretty much all coming from the fear and ignorance of the militant atheist.

I could be wrong, but that’s just how it looks to me.

And Bill Maher ranks right below Mikey Moore on the all time douche-bag hypocrite list. LOL this tampon string exists in the public discourse merely due to the fact that there are group think morons who watch his show.

I don’t watch Bill Maher’s show but I do love John Stewart’s show as well Colbert’s show. Maybe the christians on here are not vilifying atheists, I don’t know, but the condemning of every other religion by each religion is rampant in much more than threads like this. The pain is felt economically, by exclusion, by tacit bigotry, etc. The outdated model of religion which is nothing more than the evolution of past beliefs we call mythology(another condescension), will die. The new ideals will link into the common group think and most people will say it is the truth and anyone who disagrees will be anathema.

Look at the way religions are evolving. Women are now accepted as priests and reverends, homosexuals are included in the beliefs, single parents are allowed, all races can be included, lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Anyone with any liturgical historical knowledge will know that these things and many more were not allowed 50 or a hundred years ago and more. So, was religion false then and true now. Horse-hockey! The smokescreen will obfuscate the world(group mind) and continue.
