Bill Burr - 'Women are Assholes'

EmilyQ,

I wanted to address the hypocrit thing. I probably am. I try to do good whenever I see the chance but frankly it usually seems I am pissing in the wind. I sometimes succeed in doing more harm than good.

I’m actually jealous of the foster parent thing. Instead of trying to save the world just save one child, that seems feasible. But I work all the time and probably couldn’t keep a house plant alive. [/quote]

Eh, I don’t see you as a hypocrite, just sensitive to that particular topic. I’m sure I engage in hypocrisy sometimes, too.

Yesterday I snapped off at some friends over what I saw as generalizations/stupid bigotry about Christians and conservatives and wound up having to apologize. This discussion about the feminists along with the big chair-stealing debate (wherein I played a wimp apparently) had me all worked up about grouping people. So I was an asshole accidentally.

Perfect example of how the courts treat men in custody cases: a DEPLOYED US Navy sailor currently on a submarine, is about to lose custody of his six year old if he fails to appear. Social Services took the six year old from the mother and the child currently resides with the father and step mother. But the judge intends to issue a bench warrant for the service member’s arrest…

THIS IS WHAT WE DEAL WITH

My own custody battle was legendary. The “system” is designed for one thing: to fuck men.

The judge is just pissed her parents named her Margaret.

Orion, is there a suicide in that video? Because I don’t want to see that. If it’s not part of the video I can watch it, otherwise I can’t.

Just stop the video when he starts laying down the plastic over his floor.

Yes, but its all fake, so you are safe.

The suicides that are not fake however are happening all the time because apparently men have very strong feelings for their kids and would like to be more than an ATM and a bi-monthly weekend entertainer …

Who knew !?!

I knew. I do that for work, remember? I don’t watch videos depicting it, though. They bother me.

I watched the most depressing movie last night. “Enough Said,” with Julia Louise Dreyfus and James Gandolfini. Middle aged people falling in love, which is nice, but she’s a massage therapist and she winds up with his ex-wife as a client and then friend. The ex-wife is constantly bitching about the guy. Dreyfus eventually realizes that he’s the guy she’s falling in love with - and rather than reacting in any sort of ethical manner continues to pump the ex-wife for info. Then starts getting mad at him for the stuff the ex is bitching about and berating him publicly for it. : (

Obviously it all works out in the end because romantic comedy, but I found it dismal.

Is there like, a private, personal reason for this? Or what?

Being bothered by video depictions of suicide? No. I’m just funny that way. I can hear about rape or molestation and deal with it unflinchingly, but don’t want to see video depictions. There are a number of things I’ll read but not watch. Regular old fight-type violence is fine, Hollywood has desensitized me to it, but generally speaking I prefer to process bad stuff verbally. I don’t seem to have buffers for visual stuff.
