Some poker stuff…

This is pretty cool, Doug is showing his cards on delay.

Back Story:

Daniel Negreanu sold out hard and is in general pretty douchey. Doug called him out. Eventually this 25k hands challenge happened.

Poker Stories:

In general Cash players are better overall poker players than Tournament players. Online players are far and away better players than Live players.

EDIT: In general the fewer players at your table the stronger the player.

Daniel Negreanu: If you follow poker at all you have probably heard of Dnegs. He is a world class Live Tournament player and has been for over a decade. He is in his own right a very solid Live Cash game player.

Doug Polk: He was the absolute best Heads Up No Limit Holdem Online Cash player for a few years. Then he retired. I played him at cash way back in the day (minimally) but I used to crush his horses. He came up with an exploit of the late position min raise because players were way over folding to steals. It took me about a day to figure out what was happening and it took them much longer to readjust probably because nobody else caught on as quick. I really was quite good in my time.

Before this session Doug was up 946k after about 23k hands which is just over a 10bb / 100 winrate which is crushing. Daniel has a team of coaches helping him and has imprioved a ton but it wont be enough.

Tried to keep up with Wannabe and that 2nd set of Dum OHP crushed me. All in all though good workout, I didnt have a super plan going in just went with it had some fun and got a good pump.

LOL These Whipper Snappers In Here So those pullups were on some fat bars and went pretty easy (skinny bitch gainz) and some young kid tried to replicate and got about 2.5. This old dude gonna crush souls next week when I start doing muscle ups again.

Honestly finding some new challenges has good for my training so lets get the OHP TEAM GOING!!!

I am thinking to divide my pressing into Day #1 Comp Bench and Dum OHP ad day #2 Barbell OHP and Flat Dum Pressing. Sebastian Kreb does this and he’s old and hella strong so maybe this helps me too.

Superbowl ANOTHER huge bet (~3.4m) was placed on the Bucs today and the line didnt move. A respected better betting 100k would move the Superbowl line more than nothing. On non superbowl level games as little as 5-10k usually moves the line from a respected better. Chiefs keep looking better. I might increase my bet size.

DOLLA DOLLA BILL YALLL!!! My banking issues have been resolved (for now) and everything is booked and the payments went through so as long as I pass my Covid test I am headed to VEGAS BABY!!! I was just super excited to work and possibly get a real job but now I am starting to realize all the junk I have missed out on. TV and Pop Culture, Twinkie Cereal (and others I am sure), Donut Burgers, Peanut Butter Bourbon (ok that actually seems sacrilgious to me) and White Claws (bikini prep). I have also scouted some gyms and the shittiest one would have been the best gym I have ever stepped into.

Superbowl Wow, I have seen some shady shit in my time, actually there was nothing shady about it, that was blatant. Either way a fitting end to a pretty bad playoffs win/loss wise for me.

New Approach Gonna eat a bit more but keep it clean and train twice a day. That should be enough for the recomp.

Ok gonna brush up on my No Limit game as that is what I will be attempting to play in Vegas. Although I have been tracking the PLO games and that should be an option as well.

Yea the Seated OHP was with a barbell…but it was Kilos…

It was just a 25 rep set and not a lot of people do those. I think they were just surprised I didnt pass out from cardio :smiley:

Spouse Wars An ongoing battle is my wife taking my things from where I leave them (and need them) and then not putting them back so I can not find them and then she forgets where she put them. I literally have duplicates and hide everything from her so that she doesn’t do this. Yesterday she took out all my gym stuff from the car to have the car washed and never put it back. I got all the way to the gym before I noticed. Well, pretty pissed to say the least. Went home got my stuff and there was no real fight but I made it a point to not talk to her. When I brought the car back I parked it how she liked it with the caption ā€œI guess I just love you more than you love meā€. Drops Mike. LOL, the pettiness is real.

Anywho something blew up near our house so now we don’t have electricity and probably won’t until much later today so that’s fun. Gives me excuses to not shower or work though. Juevecito?

ā€œDamn It!ā€ I am struggling to find a gym close to me (or a poker room) in Vegas that isnt a Planet Fitness. I thought I finally found the perfect one but it was closed. Then I looked at the next one. Just for women, ok thats cool. Then I found one just for men (Hawks Gym: Gym and Spa just for Men) and was kind of getting a gay vibe but I mean as long as they have a Squat rack and no Lunk alarm this should be good. Clicked on what I thought would be membership fees and found hourly rates and some gay porn pic. Undeterred, well ok so they have fun on the weekends whats the Squat rack look like? There was only photos of dark strip club type booths (so I’ve been told) and a dungeon room and no Squat Racks or weights. DAMN IT!!! Stop playing with my emotions!!! For the record, I found this ā€œGymā€ on Yelp.

I hear Planet Fitness has free pizza.

I sent the website to Wifey telling her I found the perfect gym. ā€œNopNopNopā€ LOL So unsupportive.
