Bike Riders

Hello fellow jacked dudes. Just wanted to post to see if anyone else is into bikes. I just been building up my own frame, just wanted to see if anyone else has this fellow passion as me. On a side note, I love squats, but I hate riding my bike after doing them. Anyways post them up if you guys have any.

I used to ride my mountain bike to work everyday last summer as a way to get a tan and some exercise at the same time. I’ll probably start up again in another month. Here’s a link to a video of me on my bike fucking mashing through some gnarly ass terrain last year at about 50mph. Fucking rad!

TSB?

i ride a penny farthing

I didnt open this thread expecting to see a bikecycle.

yea dude, i love doing some bike work, i have welded up my own frame for countless mini bikes and go karts, never tried a bicycle project though, seems fun enough

Actually I bike quite a bit, do pretty well for a fat kid too! Luckily I live in a place with enough terrain to keep me busy no matter what I’m in the mood for. Just got a new bike as a birthday present, looking forward to bustin its cherry tomorrow. Brand new Trek 2.3 right out of the box!

I wish I were wealthy so I could own a nice house by a bike trail and subsequently a nice bike like that trek.

In the meantime I live on an airmatress is my mom’s living room sharing her car and using a Giant I bought used to get around when I don’t have access to her car.

Of course it beats my last bike which was a $50 Next I got at Wal-Mart.

When I was a kid I saved all the money I got for 3 years and bought myself a Cannondale. It lasted about 5 years before it was way too short for me to ride anymore.

I’d love to get involved in Velodrome Racing.

Most definitely. Cycling, building bikes and everything 2-wheel-related are my primary fuels in life. Nice oldschool frame youve got going there mate. Columbus tubing, cant argue with that

I`ve got a couple of rides; pictured here my totally rebuilt Kona Jake 2004 cyclo-cross set up for the road…highlights include Campagnolo Khamsin wheelset, Campagnolo Record 4-arm-spider cranks, Campy Chorus BB, Campy Record chain, Easton bars and seatpost, Italmalburi stem, Kona Project 2 chromoly forks, 23mm Cadence Carbon/Kevlar racing slicks, totally destroyed SDM saddle.

Picture taking riding the Cabot Trail along the Atlantic shore in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia last summer.

You building this one fixed I imagine…?

She needs to be! 60cm frame, shimano 105 drivetrain/cranks/brakes. Damn thing’s almost too fast

She handles pretty good, but she’s a bitch to stop once you get her going.

Had to sell my bikes for money issues, once I get enough though I’ll def be replacing them.

Downhill: Had a stock Cannondale - Gemini 900
Trials: Planet X Zebdi MKV - Custom
Street: Planet X Jackflash -Custom
Commute: Some old ass Schwinn from the dump

I have two - a cruiser and a sport bike.

Yup, thats a big frame all right! 105 is a solid gruppo, youll be happy with it. And there aint no such thing as TOO FAST! <grinnin>

I put road slicks on my Jake the Snake. I’m currently researching trail bikes. I’m leaning towards the Giant Reign.

What years your JTS? Great buy at any rate buddy. As someone whos ridden both road bikes and mountain bikes all his life, Im continually amazed at the versatility of cyclocross bikes like your Jake The Snake/my Jake. Great bike, enormous potential - Ive had mine set up at different times for serious road training, offroad riding, bike couriering, snow riding, wet riding (full fenders front and rear)…hell, you can put a rack on it and go touring if thats your thang. Its stiff yet surprisingly forgiving.

My only beefs with cross bikes are a.) reliance on cantilever brakes, though I have mine set up with a mini-V in the back and b.) slightly slack angles make handling a little on the sluggish side. Cant have it all though.

Had a quick look at the Giant Reign youre looking at...not really my kind of ride but if thats your thing, good luck with the buy and post pics when ya get it!

'09 Specialized Stumpjumper Elite

She’s satin black with a little gold/bronze detail, so naturally, this spring I’ve added on various gold parts…

SRAM X.0 shifters
SRAM X.0 rear derailleur
SRAM cassette
TruVativ Noir crankset
Chris King bottom bracket
Crank Brothers Acid 3 pedals
KMC X9-SL gold chain

And a new Phenom saddle my fiancee got me for my birthday.

I also have an '05 Specialized Sirrus for getting around on.

It’s a 2005 that I got on Ebay in 2006. It was leftover new and somehow I was the only bidder and I snagged it for $750. I rode it on trails in Virginia and although I didn’t jump it I was scary fast in the smooth stuff and nobody on an mtb could touch me. Now I have a rigid ss Voodoo and I’ve decided that it’s not the best ride for the 50+ mile and 8 hour xc races here in California.
