For some reason I like this show to, some of the shit is funny. Got to agree here you play the game you’re going to get smoked by it.
I like the show also. It is crazy how busy my gym is on Wednesday. At least it seems to get some folks moving.
In regards to the game part of it all, I think you would have to play the game. Don’t you? One bad week and you could be gone. I don’t know if I would want to pass on any advantage.

Oh I’m not saying don’t play the game. My point is that they shouldn’t be surprised when they do and it bites them in the ass.
I did find it funny that Michael stacked the blue team and they still lost.
And you do see the tv show factor at 24hr especially. So instead of just a busy gym in January, I now get to see it at the end of every season. I’m glad it gets people moving though.
Has anyone noticed they are using the economy version of the Prowler this season? I know I’ve seen it in a couple episodes. Also they’re doing sledgehammer work which I have a love/hate relationship with.

I had never watched this show until this season … My gf got me an econo-prowler for my bday back in September (she had no idea what a prowler was until she bought it for me) … the first time they showed them pushing it around on the show she goes “Hey there’s your thingy.” I looked down at my pants and said, “Nope my zipper’s up but if you ask nicely…” Then she goes, “No your prowler … on tv” Oh man, I love that girl

The thing that bothers me most is when they ask winners for advice after the show is done on how to lose weight as if they’ve become a guru. All I want is a bit of honesty.
“Given your success, do you have any advice for those at home struggling with weight loss?”
“Well Barbara, the key is first to be arbitrarily picked for a television show. Leave all responsibilities and commitments behind you for 2 months. Then do exactly what you’re told for fear of being ostracized on national television. Eat what is prepared for and spoon fed to you. Then preach arrogantly about your success on The View until you are fat again in 5 months. Rinse and Repeat.”
They prepare the majority of their own food … granted they are provided the food, but taught how to eat right (well right as in according the “experts” on the show) which is a HUUUUUGE improvement to how they were eating. There are some contestants who put weight back on, but there are far more that keep it off.
My statement was very sarcastic and round about but my real issue is with them giving ADVICE. They lived X amount of time overweight and unhealthy then they go on a show which is a TOTAL seperation from real life and come out healthier. Yes it is amazing they are healthier, yes it is fantastic that they were able to do it. But to ask for them to give ADVICE is absurd.
Life without Biggest Loser=400 pounds. Life with Biggest Loser=200 pounds.
The ONLY advice they should be able to give is go on Biggest Loser or listen to the hosts like I did.

definitely a good girl.
I’m wondering if EliteFTS provided the Prowler or if NBC was too cheap to buy the full version? only $100 price difference.

Dunno … i’d imagine if EFT had provided it they would show all of it (kind of like product placement … advertisement).

I know one of the ladies on the show this season very well. She eats about 1200 calories a day and is supposed to burn 6000. Most of those calories are from meat + veggies. She works out twice a day. Oh, and the “weekly” weigh ins are every 2-2.5 weeks, not every week. They just leave that little fact out, so when you see someone drop 14 lbs in a “week” its more like 2 weeks.
That’s interesting. I wonder why they would do that. Its not like people wouldn’t be impressed with losing 7 lbs in a week.
I also wonder if this can actually be true given the timing of the girl who was ‘voted in’ at the one season finale and then was on the next season. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t enough time between the finale and the next season to add in 1-1.5 extra weeks x 16 episodes.

They also have a sled this year. I think I spotted a reverse hyper in one opisode as well.

I would be impressed with 7lbs a week. Although I dated a wrestler in high school and that dude would drop ridiculous amounts of weight in a short period of time when trying to make weight.
I can’t see me doing that girl’s schedule though. Although I remember reading Mighty Stu’s comp preparation schedule and thinking that was brutal.

I didn’t word that properly. Not all of the weigh in’s are 2+ weeks. Some can be shorter. This is what I was told face to face by the lady when i saw her.
They were actually filming in town today, I didn’t have time to stay and chat with them but I did manage to drive by the festivities and was pretty impressed with the weight loss this girl had achieved in less than 6 months. Upwards of 125 If i remember correctly.
