We’re expecting at about the same time. I agree that there is a mix of emotions, but impatient is by far the biggest one… I just want to have her already.

haha I was thinking the same thing. Planned pregnancy or insemination?
The first few months are a big adjustment, but it gets really fun after month 2-3 when they start being responsive and recognize who you are. It’s insane, I will literally make the same dumb face or stupid noise for an hour if it keeps a smile on my son’s face.
mr pop and big boss - you both seem to have a good head on your shoulders, I’m sure you’ll make awesome parents.
and mr pop - make sure you post a thread about how your daughter doubles her bodyweight with hardcore training. ![]()

Or, how about he’s getting married in nine months.
Two words: SLEEP TRAINING
That shit works and is awesome. My 3 month old daughter used to wake up every 1-2 hours, now she sleeps through the night like a champ.
Taking away the sleep crutches (binky, swaddling, etc) was the key. She doesn’t like it (the first two nights were fucking awful - think 4 straight hours of infant screaming) but she sleeps SO much better now that it’s worth the 10 min of crying at night.
Congrats, embrace the changes in yourself and in your SO. You’ll look at things differently from now on. I thought this was BS when I heard it but it’s true.

18 month pregnancy sounds much more plausible.

Congratulations, man! That’s pretty awesome! And don’t be too worried about all of the lack of sleep comments (everyone swearing you won’t get any sleep). I admit I have a fairly good baby but he’s been sleeping through the night since he was 6-8 weeks old and typically sleeps from 9-9 every night. A few friends of mine have similar experiences, hopefully your baby is a good sleeper as well!
How is the wifey/gf handling it? Is she just about fed up with being prego yet?[/quote]
Thanks,LM. I’ve heard the lack of sleep comments for a bit. If he’s anything like his pops,he will be a night owl…lol. He is more active at bedtime so I hope that not a sign…lol. But I’m sure with some consistency,we shall be fine getting him to sleep at night.
The wife has been a trooper…she’s exhausted and has a slight issue with sciatica. She teaches Kindergarten, too…so she’s pretty much done by the time she gets off work.

Like an elephant has a 22 month gestational period, mormons are not quite as slow to pop. Makes sense.
Seriously though, if he’s getting married in 9 months and going to try and have a kid right away, it will most likely not happen. When trying to have a baby, it doesn’t usually happen the first time.
Congrats Boss, you’ll love being a Dad.
Getting married in three months, but won’t be having kids right off the bat. Hence the “or so” part.
I do have a friend who just found out he’s having a girl. They’ve been married for… six months. So if I follow a similar timeline, it’ll be the same.
Enjoy every stage. It goes by soooo fast. That ultrasound seems like yesterday, and my oldest (15) is now taller than his dad. I just took him shopping for new track spikes - size 12! And sometimes when I hear this deep voice calling “Mom” from across the house, I wonder if I’ve got an intruder! You are going to love it. There’s been no greater joy in my life than family.
