I totally thought it was friday today, so i was planning my leg workout for saturday morning legs, when my wife pointed out that its only thursday.

That happens to me more than I’d like to admit… the days and weeks just start to blend together.

Only positive is you get another free day before you have to hit legs!

Im just gonna say that i was influenced by @T3hPwnisher talkin about monsters. This is a new to me flavor, mango. I like it, but not as much as ultra blacks.

Haha…i used to be way worse than i am now…but i still need some. Get pretty cranky without it

So i have refined what i am doing for daily work, much more intelligent than the kind of daily training i did when i was younger, or even not that long ago. I am someone who loves to train and i would and have trained myself into the ground in times past. A big part of training very regularly for me is mental.

But with being a father, husband and business owner, i cant just train every day the way i used to. Looking at how pwn does things really helped me to decifer what i need to being doing. Very sub-max type stuff, chosen with a very specific set of goals/reasons as to why im doing what im doing. Takes little time and can be modified slightly in certain ways.

Thats all i will write about this for now. I will post my leg workout when i have more time.

After drinking Bang and Reign with 300mg of caffeine, I can’t be bothered with a Monster or anything else.

On the topic of having a reason for everything you do in your training, @T3hPwnisher do you do things for preventive maintenance because you have personal experience with it or do you actually listen to “the experts”. I’m talking about the smaller things like BPAs and face pulls.

I still battle a little paranoia about those things and avoiding shoulder or other joint problems. On the flip side, I don’t have time for unnecessary fluff.

Not preventative for me: after 6 dislocations and a torn labrum my shoulder is trash. This is more healing it.

How is bang? I havent seen it out here yet. I have seen reign for about 6 months, tried it and liked it

Bang is a little better than Reign. They’re pretty similar. I think Reign might be a Bang ripoff. I think there was/is even a lawsuit of Bang vs Reign for copying their label.

Bang has more flavors, too.

I didnt know about that legal stuff. But if and when bang makes its way out here i want to try it

I’ve honestly been unimpressed with the majority of bang flavors. I’m not a fan of smooth/fruity energy drinks: I like ones with bite to them. The only bang flavor I care for is “Purple Kittles”, which tastes like skittles, which is my exception for fruity flavors. Cotton Candy is a solid choice in any energy drink, but I find Bang’s Cotton Candy to be the least desirable of the ones out there: very chemical after taste.

I lived off a case of Bang Birthday Cake while traveling, because they were cheap, and it was ok honestly, but not something I’d go out of my way to get.

This may be a hot take, but sugar free red bull all the way. I have tried many different brands and flavors but I always come crawling back.

I recently tried Rainbow Unicorn and I love it.

I wasn’t a fan, primarily for the reasons I noted. Needs a bite.

Birthday cake flavor doesnt sound too good to me. In my mind thats a pretty wild flavor for an energy drink…but then again i just dont like cake in general.

It’s definitely unique. Were it not for them being a dollar a can, I wouldn’t have gone for it, but I found out where my line was on cost, haha. That said, Rockstar has a marshmallow flavor that I actually really dig. Sometimes it’s that unique experience that’s pretty cool.

My favorite flavor energy drink remains Rockstar Fruit punch. Those and 2 quest bars rank as my second favorite breakfast of all time.

My 2 favorite flavors are monster assault and beaver buzz rootbeer. The second one is a canadian brand. I dont drink them anymore though cause they are not sugar free. I think theres at least one pie theme that would make a good energy drink flavor, at least in my opinion…strawberry rhubarb. Thats one of my favorite pies and i have come across other s.r. flavored stuff…

So my day ended up not at all being what i had planned, but thats ok cause it was great. Basically wound up doing 3 small workouts over the course of the day, plus wrestling and chasing around the kiddo. He is getting to the point where he instigates horsing around now…i love it and it is a great way to get some incidental conditioning in.

My first workout was just daily work…got it done while i was making breakfast

  • Pullups
  • Standing Ab
  • Banded tricep pushdown
    X 3 rounds…approached it as a circuit. Very sub-max so it was easy but i felt a small pump coming on anyway. Wasnt worried about how many reps i got

Workout 2…i fully intended to do legs, but a buddy of mine stopped by and we wound up doing tire flips and stone over shoulder. So again just a small workout, but a goodie. No idea on reps again sorry

Workout 3…i felt the need to do something more

Fran rep scheme 21/15/9 for time

  • Step ups (reps for each leg, not just total)
  • Swings
    Time: 5:40. Pace was slowed slightly so i wasnt being to noisey…son was just put to bed. No real breaks though…and really enjoyed that workout…definitely want to lower my time and do it again

In a way workout 3 was a pre-cursor to the leg session i want to get in tomorrow.

I have been feeling really good the last couple days particularly, but i dont totally know why.

Im starting to think about how im gonna approach my barbell work again once i get one, and i have a few ideas.
