You misread. Voter fraud is imaginary. How do you fix something that is imaginary? Keep in mind, Trump said fraud happened, not that it might happen.

I believe every state requires ID to register. You need ID when you vote by mail for the first time. I don’t know how this whole you can vote without ID nonsense started. People think you can randomly walk up to any polling location, walk in, and vote.
And what about fake ID?
That’s a federal law. And it doesn’t apply to registering in person.

Sign an affidavit Some examples: You can register and vote on election day without ID in California and D.C. In Maryland and Michigan you can register and vote on election day and you just have to have proof of residency, not citizenship.
Do you know what happens next? Election officials still have to approve your vote.

In Maine you need ID to register.

- Government ID document/credential without photo (i.e. certified birth certificate or signed Social Security card)
- An official document that shows name and address of voter (i.e. eligibility for public benefits, utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck)
- Verified unique identifier (Maine driver’s license number or last four numbers of Social Security Number)
A utility bill is not identification by any stretch of the word.

In my state at least you would need a utility bill with your name and address, and at least another form of official ID that has a picture.

You dont need an ID to pass through TSA (and never have). I rarely show my ID to enter or drink at a bar.
But we are talking about registering to vote. And if I were registering to vote in Maine, I would argue those points… and win… because I’m right.
You also seem to forget that you were referring to an application. Meaning, it needs someone to approve it. It’s not just filling it out and magically you can vote.
