I don’t think a contending Presidential candidate has ever done something quite like that before, assuming it approaches a typical Rogan podcast length of at least 90 minutes and follows the established format. I doubt Rogan would agree to much else and he’s expressed a reluctance to have Trump on the podcast before.
Trump did an hour long interview with Lex Fridman, who is also legit and a good friend of Rogan; Fridman is a more buttoned up (for lack of a better term) version.

The hit piece by The Atlantic about the Fort Hood soldier was absolute bullshit. 90% of the article is based on “anonymous sources”. Then they slip in the family lawyer and the sister saying the article isn’t true at all, that Trump was amazing to them, and that she voted for Trump in 2020 and is going to vote for him again.
FWIW, they didn’t slip that in, the were very upfront in the article with the on-record denials. So much so that it made me WTF about how the piece got published…they must really trust the anonymous sources.
Thing is… so what? The article sucks because it brings nothing new and accomplishes nothing. Another instance of trump denigrating a veteran, or military personnel…old news. It’s another instance of well documented behavior that voters have either chosen to plug their nose and accept, flat out don’t believe anything negative about dear leader, or is further confirmation why trump is awful and shouldn’t be elected. It’s not moving the dial for anyone, as crazy as that may be.

I disagree with how you seem to believe what you read in articles like this, of which there have been many over the last decade. “Sources familiar with Donald Trump’s thinking say he’s going to…” and “anonymous sources denied by everyone involved say Donald Trump is actually…” are as good as gold for people who want to believe they are stopping Hitler.
He has said enough ridiculous things over the years to let all of it stand on its own two feet and let people decide if he’s really an aspiring fascist dictator waiting for the right moment to begin oppressing hundreds of millions of people, or not.
But no, they gotta run with every far-fetched story that’s ever been dreamt up about Trump, and now nobody believes them except for their fans who are entirely uninterested in journalism that involves actual reporting backed up by actual facts that can be verified.
Of course, there’s a really strong market for Donald Trump fan fiction, and I think a lot of your information sources who present themselves as news professionals are salivating at the prospect of DJT’s likely 2nd term. There’s some big bucks ahead for them.
I see potential in AOC’s bangability, along with a few local-level politicians in a 1 hour radius from me. They aren’t all repulsive hags, at least not on the outside.
I don’t think any other election in history has presented more information to US citizens about how each candidate will actually govern than this one. Kamala has stated in plain English that she supports every decision of Joe Biden and she has stated in plain English that she supports even more radical policies, like reparations.
We know what we’re going to get.
I also don’t think there has been another election where so many non-citizens are being empowered to cast votes, due to Democrats successfully doing exactly that in my city. It is my belief that they attempt to do this everywhere they possibly can and that they succeed in many places.
I’m very curious to get an idea of how many people register to vote in my town by signing an affidavit stating they live in Lewiston through an interpreter without providing any ID. It is getting outrageous enough that the people involved in the process are raising concerns.
But hey, is just like the founding fathers said. “If the people don’t like your policies, pay people who do to move in, cause problems and chase out most people who have the means to flee. Or give me death.”
Taking the fruits of one group’s labor and giving it to another group is a political tradition as American as Apple Pie at this point, and it is what defines American Democrats more than anything else for their entire history.
