3 full tires and 1 flat tire means the car is stranded. If the 3 full tires give some air to the flat tire, now the car can drive to the nearest pump where they can all fill up. That one tire still has a slow leak, so every so often the other tires need to help it out and lend some air… But they all get where they want to go as opposed to being stranded on the side of the road if the 3 full tires refused to share any of their air.
