Biden 2021 - A Mediocre Middle Ground

It’s usually preceded by a loss of civic duty, the acceptance of degenerate culture and not simply turning away from foundational values but turning against them.

What are folks’ take on trumps comments at the Black Journalist Conference about Kamela not being black? She went to a HBCU, was part of a black sorority there, etc.

Seems pretty shitty, and frankly a really odd take, for an old white man to attack a black woman as “not black enough”, to a room full of black folks.

They don’t ban non blacks.

I would bet, I could be wrong, they can’t deny membership to fellow students for reasons of race.

Kamala probably has some black African DNA but she is not African American, by definition. The problem some have with her is that she tries to portray herself as coming from the hood or, when in Atlanta, the country.

It was really, really stupid to say. Especially in that location.

Agreed. I think it’s a horrible, fairly offensive take anywhere… but to say it in that environment shows a total lack of awareness too.

Trump says plenty of stuff I wouldn’t, but he’s right, as per usual. Kamala is about as black as I am.

Considering his political opponents are running the 3rd world playbook of imprisonment and assassination, he gets a pass for correctly labeling VP Harris with unsurprising words that I’ve come to expect from him.

It comes down to “black” being a poorly defined term. If it’s simply a question of how she looks, while she has darker skin, it’s relatively light and her facial structure does show her mixed heritage. If it’s a question of culture, I’d say Harris upbringing in upper class neighborhoods and private schools in Canada is far from a typical “black” childhood and youth. If it’s a question of self identification, she did identify as “Indian” as recently as 2017. While Indian and black don’t need to be mutually exclusive, it’s still fair to point out that.

As far as whether or not this was strategically smart remains to be seen. It’s unlikely to change the opinions of most people, but the real question comes down to how it affects the few percent of people that are really persuadable in the middle. I don’t really have a good way of answering that question. I can see good arguments in both directions depending on how you understand why that person in the middle is persuadable.

It was stupid to be in that location.

Trump should stick with issues, they cannot debate the issues or the problems they caused

they will trap him with the racial and gender identity bullshit

The problem is, he put himself in a location where those ARE the issues.

He let them control the conversation…that was HIS mistake

I thought it was funny as hell. It was Boratesque. I’m more surprised by people being surprised. I also think Trump didn’t hurt himself any. He said the quiet part out loud and those who cry about it, weren’t voting for him anyway. Any Dem complaining about it should stfu anyway as Biden has said worse and they were willing to vote for that corpse a second time.

To be accurate, from age 6-12 she lived in a black neighborhood in Berkeley, CA and was part of a desegregation school busing program.

Has a black Jamaican father, attended and HBCU, and is part of a black sorority. But, we have white folks out here trying to disparage her by saying she isn’t black enough for them. SMH.

She is “black” whenever interacting with an audience to which the color of a person’s skin actually plays a CRUCIAL role in the candidate they will vote for.
Sadly I feel that the trend will only get worse and soon, Latinos will be voting for Latinos, blacks for blacks, whites for whites, etc. Worst of all, all people will end up suffering when (just like with DEI) certain candidates get elected on the basis of their skin tone but do not possess the skills or experience to do a good job. If we really do travel down this path with our politics in this country, we’re all in store for some difficult times. Is there even a solution to this? Something that can be done to prevent this? Hell, maybe I’ve just lost all faith in humanity and feel that people are getting, on average, much less intelligent.

So did Rachel Dolezal.

Idiocracy is becoming more of a reality every year. Who was the POTUS in the movie? A pro wrestler. Who was a featured speaker at the RNC? Hulk Hogan ripping his shirt off.

Spectacle over substance is what the people want!

Definitely true.

There’s PLENTY of substance with Hulk Hogan at the RNC, but it is unsurprising that progressives don’t see it. They are too busy congratulating themselves on making basic observations like yours as if drawing a simple comparison to a fictional movie is evidence of Republican stupidity and progressive brilliance.

The fact that progressives latch on to simple comparisons like that is known to Democrats, which explains literally all of late night TV for the last decade or so.

The concern would be all the folks who hate trump, but hated more the idea of voting for a obviously impaired Biden. Those folks won Biden the 2020 election, but had begrudgingly moved back to the trump camp. Those folks are back up for grabs now, and comments like that from trump push those people away. I agree that it didn’t sway anyone from the MAGA contingent or the nevertrumpers

And Harris had strippers in Atlanta. Was it Cardi B who once interviewed Biden? And in general, the Dems have paraded a whole host of Hollywood morons at their conventions and to raise money.
