And Trump ordered the assassination of Qasem Soleimani.
I agree about disillusionment with the “never ending quest for more profits at any cost” mind set. It feels like everyone is putting the squeeze on me. The company that makes my g.f.'s protein bars even started putting less protein in there.
But I was trying to talk about a re-organization of the economy. Supporters of both parties have been in favor of more domestic production and less imports, especially from China. And lots of people support more energy production and export by the US.
And it’s starting to happen.
I’m sure nobody wanted high inflation and high interest rates as the cost, but this is the direction that people wanted to go.
Are people who rooted for it pleased to see it happen?
Which kept Iran at bay…Iran was afraid of Trump after that
Until Iran became an islamic state in 1979, they then became the primary sponser of terrorism in the middle east
It looks like the plan is to start working on refilling the strategic reserve.
The good news is they sold the oil off at about $95 per barrel, and they plan to buy it back at around $78.
The bad news is that they’re talking about putting back 6 million barrels, when they took out like 180 million.
What do you isolationist types think about oil prices and getting more oil? Would you be down with the government nationalizing a few rigs and pumping out free gas?
What about seizing some Iranian tankers? Or the US government taking their $6 billion we have tied up and using it to buy oil and replenish the reserve?
I thought the same thing, blasting that guy pacified Iran.
Then I looked back and saw that it happened in 2020, way later in Pres Trump’s term that I had remembered.
Now I’m not sure if it kept Iran at bay or stirred them up.
Either way, I do agree with you and punyguy that Iran was pretty quiet during the Trump years. Those assholes seized oil tankers under Pres Biden and US Navy ships back under Press Obama!
I agree with you here. Reclaiming production should be a priority for both parties in 2024 but I doubt most voters will put much stock in it.
This is okay if other things correct for it, like making wage increases match cost of living increases. Wouldn’t be a problem then.
For the sake of stocking the national reserves for defense/disaster purposes - yes.
Take the beer goggles off:
And I’m sure the influx of unchecked illegal immigrants has not exacerbated this fear:
Whenever someone points out something stupid AF that Biden does/did, like the Afghanistan withdrawal where Biden went against the advice of his own people on how to execute said withdrawal, you immediately claimed the same thing would’ve happened under Trump.
The same thing would’ve happened under Trump! says @zecarlo, except -insert irrational rationalization here.
What are we? Criminals?
No. But releasing it back so Iran can fund more terrorists is stupid.
@zecarlo says: but Trump would’ve released that money also.
Let’s hope the gravy train rolls in soon! And in the future our kids all have great jobs.
Nobody has even mentioned the job President Trump did with Isis.
I missed this earlier.
I disagree. Democrats (the elected ones) are loudly in support of “climate change” as a priority, and that means less domestic production of oil (and gas?).
The thing with Trump imo is that although he is a bloviating bloviator, he does not interfere with the experts that are the ones doing the actual work. His detractors can say that’s because he’s just lazy (or wily enough to know his lane), but still -results. Trump even let Fauci do his (lying, profit motivated) job uninterrupted.
I spent 3 decades in NYC. The ice skating rink in Central Park was unusable because the city could not fix a simple leaky thingymiajig. Trump said, I can fix it, let me handle it; and he did, because guess what? -he hired a company that would know how to do the job right (pay off the proper people). Trump is also the guy that should’ve been bankrupt because he overextended himself before the real estate crash. But he was too big to fail, and the banks saved his ass -he’s come back from the abyss, and his outer personna aside, I’d venture to guess that’s made him a wise(r) man.
Biden’s been lying his way successfully all through life; which makes him…?
Senile? Demented? The real-life Bernie?

The dudes career is a monument to dishonesty!
They told you this?
As well as Saudi Arabia, what was Trump’s relationship with the Saudis like? You know, the people who murdered Jamaal Kashoggi under Trump’s watch?
Camp David.
I can play this game as long as you want.
