I should have put $1,000 on DeSantis when I had the chance.
I feel more optimistic today.
Lots of people voted, there wasn’t any violence, and it looks like things ran smoothly. There were a bunch of Direct Ballot Initiatives where people got to vote directly on recreational cannabis or abortion. The Election Reform rules in Georgia seem totally effective and completely fair. After 2 years of investigations nobody has found any voter fraud from the last election. It seemed like everything “worked.”
Even Sarah Huckabee Sanders was smiling last night.

I dont know what their solutions are, but all this happened under a democrat controlled government…so if the republicans win at least one branch then the bleeding can stop
I prefer a gridlocked government, not one party controlled government

Can Congress pass laws without senate approval?
Senate is 50/50 with a democrat VP as a tie breaker…how is that republican controlled?

By stopping the bleeding and negotiations between the two sides happen, very rare are extreme policies enacted
Gridlock is what has kept American freedom intact as long as it has. The patriot act passed the house 357-66 and the Senate 98-1. Would have been nice to have some gridlock.

Imo, yes! It turns out having abortion as a top priority issue was “the thing” that people did not want to admit to pollsters. Michigan’s results are the prime example.
Same here. I was hoping for a red wave because of how much I dislike what has happened under Biden. But upon further reflection I think this result is actually best of both worlds since I believe Trump’s influence will be marginalized, and someone rational like DeSantis (who Trump was absolutely readying his barrage of BS on) can be the “leader” of the Reps.
Now it’s up to the Dems to find someone who is not a potato (Biden) or has a rock for a brain (Kamala).
