Biden 2021 - A Mediocre Middle Ground

I think associating mask wearing or not mask wearing with some kind of left/right leaning must be an American thing.
I don’t really assume someone’s political beliefs based on that.
For all I care, it’s a personal choice that doesn’t have to allign with politics. I think I actually prefer the waiters to have masks just as I prefer cooks to wear hair nets, just for hygienic purposes.

I don’t care about politics when it comes to my food.

It may be. The U.S. definitely politicized it.

If you’re not in America, you may not understand how accurate it is here.

I’d rather eat somewhere else if I feel either is necessary.

Thats not very vegan of you.

Here in the US, we like to politicize everything, then spite fuck each others pet rights causes, losing track of the fact that they are actually everybody’s rights, whether one exercises them or not.

Being a two party system I’d imagine parties can’t help but take a (grand)stand on what they think their voters would agree.

Which is probably against everyone’s best interests.
Masks could cure cancer and make Sofia Vergara want to blow you and half the polulation would still be against it and you should be shot if you wear one even if you’re a brain surgeon.

Or they could make a death angel to come to your house and kill your first born and pets and the other half would still want you to wear them when you’re alone in the desert.

As Ice-T once said, “FUCK A VEGAN”.

Seems like a fun game, no doubt, but who wins?

It is a chaotic world, but I feed off chaos. I do my best work in chaos.

I am here for it.

The politicians.

I’ve never met a person who is that anti-mask. I can’t think of anyone who says people shouldn’t be allowed to wear their mask if it makes them feel better.

I think this is closer, judging by the fact that some wanted mask-wearing mandated…but I think they truly believe they’re doing good because they’ve been told it’s good. Scary, really.

I don’t usually put political memes on Facebook, but that one was just too good.

There is stupid on all sides.

There is, but none of those folks called for punishment for the masked. DeSantis even said, “If you want to wear it: fine.”

Those against mask mandates also weren’t the ones clamoring for people to be FORCIBLY vaccinated.

Let’s not forget that too.

Forcibly made to take an injection under penalty of losing your job, freedom of association, and even a lot wanted people jailed for not being vaccinated.

Absolute lunacy.

They did have precedence on their side as other vaccines have been forced upon people.

So did abortion and slavery.

At the private company level by the federal government? I believe that is what was desired this time around…

Kids need to be vaccinated in order to attend school, for example.

I’m not saying it’s right or wrong but when we selectively make the statement with regard to the government, “how dare they,” it’s not a good argument.

Rather than argue what right the government has to “persuade” me to get a vaccine, the argument should be about this particular vaccine.

We can say how dare the government round up citizens and stick them in internment camps, but they did it to the citizens of Japanese descent. And many had their property taken from them while in those camps by their fellow Americans who saw an opportunity to profit from it. The thing is, the government did do it and there are plans in place, I know this for a fact so it’s not some conspiracy crap, to round up people and forcibly quarantine them in case of a pandemic. I saw these plans well before covid was a thing. If I know about these plans they probably aren’t even much of a secret.

I don’t get why people seem so shocked and upset about the government imposing itself on us. They forced many young Americans to go fight and die in Vietnam for years, and for what?

Government schools…and I think they can usually get exemptions.

I agree.

*About this particular vaccine AND sickness. I can see an argument for forced vaccines or isolation in the case of something that is deadly-and-contagious-enough, if the vaccine is effective-enough, that to refuse to be vaccinated and to contact someone could be considered manslaughter or murder.

I agree.

I agree x 1000.

You have champagne socialists and limousine liberals who want a powerful government so they can take your stuff. You have conservatives who want a powerful government so they can keep others from taking your stuff. In the case of neocons, they want a powerful government so they can go to other countries and take their stuff and end up taking our stuff as well.

So I guess, the more stuff you want, the more government you’ll need.
