Biden 2021 - A Mediocre Middle Ground

Andrew Jackson? What do you really know about Andrew Jackson? And yes. It’s not like Biden does not have a lot of blood on his hands.

Enough to know that he was a tremendously cruel man whose misdeeds vastly supercede that of Bidens.

Remember the Indian removal act? The trail of tears?

Where an order from him was shot down in court and he just pissed on it, and re-ordered it despite the court ruling against him? Zero.
And why bring up Trump all the time, or at all? Or was this just an opportunity to jump up on your soapbox to lecture how very partisan people like me are, while you are very noble and nonpartisan and fair?
I sense you really don’t know what is happening in America right now. Biden is a full on trainwreck of a disaster, everything under his purview is in crisis, actual crisis. It’s unprecedented, it’s never happened before. Most presidents would have one or two scandals and perhaps one or two real crisis’s, but no one in modern history has presided in such a way, that everything his branch controls is in an absolute tail spin.

Mandates, to where it affects your ability to conduct business and participate in society has never happened, in the U.S. These are false equivalencies. I have never been forced to get a flu shot, I have never had my job threatened if I didn’t comply with a flu shot or a measles shot or any other kind of shot.

I don’t know what’s happening in Australia, people aren’t pulling their kids out of school over a vax mandate in the U.S. That’s because, right now, there is no mandate for kids to get the covid shot…yet. It’s coming, but it’s not here yet.

People are pulling their kids out of school over mask mandates and the application of critical race theory in those schools. Parents of all races are pulling their kids out of school over CRT. Ah, but I can already hear it! “They don’t teach CRT in schools!” Correct, there is not a graduate level humanities class in elementary school. What is being done is actually worse. They are applying the principles of CRT, as if the “theory” has been proven true and using people’s kids as unwilling participants in this grand social experiment where we once again divide people across racial lines.

Well, I hope it’s not personal. We come here to fight. If it was an echo chamber it would be really boring. This is supposed to be fun, though we talk about very serious things. And we’re all biased, don’t even leave yourself out of that. You didn’t get red pilled, you got a red enima with the utterly ridiculous lockdowns and rules you have been suffering under. Are you allowed to go outside your 5 km radius yet? Are people still being tackled by the police for dropping their mask for a second?
It’s kind of hard to see Australia through the flames here.

That’s a trope I have heard all my life. I don’t know any politicians personally, but I do like Rand Paul. I also like Tulsi Gabbert. Maybe they are truly awful people, but from what I do know I like even if I don’t always agree with them. And despite what you think, I am not a actual republican. I don’t like much of what’s going on in the republican party either. But their issues are different. They are not trying to actively destroy anything. It’s what they do not do that pisses me off. They make no attempt to make a stand and preserve our rights. They just let the leftists walk all over them and the squeak away like a timid mouse.
I vote that way because the left has lost it’s fucking mind. It’s like a virtue signalling contest on who can come up with the most insane idea and then try to foist it on an unwilling or unaware populous. The republicans are barely in the way of the left, hell some are even on board. Republicans in their current state, are not dangerous. The democratic party is. They are the ones who are trampling the shit out of our civil liberties and they are winning.
Policy discrepancies are not what I fight for. I am fighting for the actual foundational principles as so specified by the constitution. I am fighting to get back to the place where we can argue over policy. Freedom of speech, we are losing it. We have lost a great deal of ground with regards to this foundational principle. I hate it, but this is what it has come to, there are people with institutional power and influence who make no bones about the fact that they believe ‘certain speech’ should be banned. This isn’t hyperbole, it’s real. The suck is real.

IIRC, it started when you said something along the lines of Biden being the worst president of all times, hands down. That is kinda begging for comparisons.

I could almost understand it, if the requirement was for public schools only, but it’s for private schools as well. The only schooling that is NOT affected by this is home schooling… Which is why my daughter is currently home schooled.

I don’t think govt officials understand that when you force someone to do something, people like myself with ALWAYS fight back. But if you’d started by asking and formally stating that there would never be a requirement, then maybe I would have been convinced to get vaxxed already.

You ever have someone that tries too hard to sell you on something? it makes you not trust it… the Covid ‘vaccine’ has had way too many used car salesmen pitching it for me to trust.

He asked whether something like that would be looked at. He didn’t suggest it. Nothing remotely close to the way the comment was characterized by the ignorant and/or stupid and/or disingenuous.

I’m leaving the country in two weeks! Probably not forever, but for a long time… College is a problem if I stay overseas. If I can somehow get into Germany I believe university is free… So perhaps that’s an option? As is making aliyah…

The borders finally opened, but most are actually too scared to leave due to covid. To note… If Aus locks back down again… Which I think they will… Fat chance I’ll come back under that precipice…

Some parts of Aus are still in lockdown … You are correct, this robbed me of the past two years of my life… Two years I’ll never get back… Australia totally lost its mind over the past two years

The fact we still have attitudes as larrikin, anti authoritatian country folk is laughable. Australia lost that around twenty years ago, now we represent a nation of subservient bootlickers. There is no individualism here, only soul crushing degrees of centralised control and bureaucracy. Those who come to Aus looking for a relaxed culture akin to Europe/Israel will be in for a shock when they’re pulled over and fined 300$ for driving 2 miles over the speed limit on a freeway…

Australian’s know how to drink a lot, suck up to the government and get out of doing hard work… Not a fan of the culture here. Wasn’t the biggest fan of patriotism in the US, but compare the faults the US had relative to Aus… I’d rather still be living over there…

Yes, I am an absolute saint sir. I never judge anyone, I only forgive. I am the Messiah… In all seriousness, I do have my own biases; I’m not ashamed to admit that.

I’m biased over covid restrictions after watching Australia turn from "soft authoritatian state’’ to “Orwellian police state” in the name of public safety. Many disagree with my narrative here and believe police slamming old women onto concrete for protesting against curfews and never ending stay at home orders, facial tracking technology and drone surveillance isn’t reminiscent of a police state.

In Aus there is a mandate for those aged 12+

I don’t… I like to engage in civilised discussion. Flinging insults at the person you argue with will never, ever work in terms of enabling the opposing side to look at the world through your lens, even if they don’t agree with it.

Civilised discussion for the win. Fighting/flighting shit at one another in political discussion never accomplishes anything.

I see… You’re secretly a democrat! (Joking)

Like that mitt Romney advertisement/smear campaign that accused him of being a secret democrat…

I’m assuming you identify as independent/vote libertarian

I’m not going to get into the red vs Blue debate. You know my stance on this. I’m not a fan of either side. Collectively, an optimal societal framework entails policy enactments and ideals taken from both sides of the spectrum. You can’t tell me Universal healthcare (while keeping privatised healthcare for those who can afford it) is a bad idea… It’s not socialism to ensure all type 1 diabetics can afford insulin.

My goodness that is a childish way to act.

That’s okay, you just keep doing as your told. It always works out well to blindly follow the will of others. :+1:

As opposed to blindly opposing the will of others out of immature angst and cutting off your nose to spite your face in the process.

It’s not blind at all. Yall over here looking at a virus, wringing your hands about it. I’m over here looking at a government that has taken massive power grabs while distracting the people with fear. If trump was the one mandating covid vaccines, I hope your opinion would stay as it is now. I dont care if its trump or biden or santa clause - i do not agree with government power grabs.

Covid doesn’t scare me. Oppressive governments scare me. I hate to be the one to break this to you, but the government has gotten mighty big the last few years - and that should be concerning.

It did not. This is just a few, there are many examples of politicians and media outlets doing the same.

I make judgements about my health based on science, not politics or a misplaced sense of teenage rebelliousness.

What was your tipping point for deciding govt was too big and you were gonna slam the door in daddy govts face and scream “stop telling me what to do!”?

It has been too big since before I was born. You seem to not understand libertarians very well

So you’ve been rebelling against govt since day 1?

Weren’t you a marine? That involves A LOT of blindly doing exactly what the govt tells you to do, no?

Are you vacinated? Do you lift and do cardio? Do you eat well? What is your age? I assume you are a pretty healthy person if you are in this forum. After all this is a lifting forum. If you have vaccinated you have taken a pretty bad health decision to trade of vulnerability for 2 months for an immunity of 3 months. Seems scientific research is escaping you.

You’ve seen to have taken up quite an interest in me specifically, despite calling me a racist POS less than 24 hours ago. I’m flattered but disinterested.

I chose to enlist because I believed in doing my part for this country. A notion I’m quite positive escapes your understanding.

Tired of arguing with entitled libbies so I’m out✌

So… You guys aren’t going to go out to a nice restaurant together? I was getting old.married couple quabbling type vibes…

Perhaps he was gonna buy you lobster or something equally luxurious! And you’ve turned down that offer?!!

Lobster is both overpriced this year and under rated imo … I’d go for the filet
