I ended up getting myself a fuji crosstown 3.0. I got my wife a trek 7000wsd. I think I maybe should have waited and go myself a trek 7000. oh well. I like the fuji.
If you ever ride a good stiff road racing bike, you’ll be addicted to the awesome acceleration you can do on them.
It’s a whole other world. No exageration.
I take my mtn bike out after being on the roadie, and it’s a friggen dog. Slow as fuck.
You can ride a roadie on smooth dirt paths, although I don’t recommend a newbie try. Hitting a sandy spot could take you down quick.
That’s why you have two bikes. Have fun.
Congrats on bike ownership bud, but I must warn you, it’s a sickness. I built up my Surly 1X1 singlespeed a couple of years ago using some decent parts. Within 6 months, I had replaced everything with thomson, chris king, easton, etc. components, I couldn’t stop. Paychecks disappeared right before my very eyes. Have fun!
Ive been riding a little further everyday. Im just getting over Mono, so not only am I out of shape, but that crap is kicking my butt. Me and my wife took our daughter to a state park yesterday.
We bought her a little pull behind trailer. That was cool because I really couldnt tell she was back there, but she weighs 30lbs plus the trailer and it isnt very aerodynamic. So maybe it will make me stronger whem shes not behind it.

I cut my teeth on a road bike, but I could run over a German Shepherd with my mountain bike. I love that stability
