Beverly International?

has any one used any of thier diet plans or supplements?

I’ve used their BCAA’s before. They were called “Muscle Mass” or something like that. I’ve heard great reviews about their stuff, but I don’t believe they’re anything special.

I’ve liked the results I’ve had with every BI product I’ve ever used. They cost a pretty penny, though. If you’re going to use one of their customized diet plans be prepared to spend a lot of money…

They make very high quality stuff, but it is a bit pricey. I don’t think their protein is worth the extra bucks at all - the cheapest you’ll find it is $30 a container, and for me Metabolic Drive is every bit as good for $4 less. The do make 3 products that I love though - liver tabs (old school as hell but they are great for strength, energy, and hardness), hydrolyzed amino tablets (also great for strength and for adding to meals), and their multi-vitamins are reasonable and very solid, although I wish they had an iron-free version.

I’d love to see a Biotest take on a hydrolyzed amino tablet. Surge is a classic, but hydrolyzed protein has applications way beyond the peri-workout period.

Liver tabs? Really? I haven’t tried them but have always just kind of laughed whenever I hear about them nowadays, since all I know of them is that they were advertised in the muscle mags waaaaay back when I was a little kid, and that people kind of scoff at them now as being bunk nowadays.

You feel that they really do something?

Please explain how liver tablets provide strength, energy, and hardness.

I was using their Glutamine Plus BCAAs

A guy who used to work with me swore by them and even loaned me a catalog to peruse. They have a good rep for their protein. If I weren’t already pouring my supplement money into Biotest, Beverly would be getting it.

I did a search on protein when i was first looking to buy and it was all that came up.And me being a teen and all, shelling out $55 for protein that has 35g a serving is not gonna happen, cause it costs taht much for a tank of gas…for me anyway.

Now if I had that kind of money to play with,I would try their stuff.

Great company with good supplements. I’ve used their glutamine and creatine, both were fantastic.

Like was said, though, they’re a little pricey. If you can hit them on sale somewhere (like elitefts), go for it.

Their name’s kinda gay.

As far as the energy goes, they are loaded with B12 (both natural and added), so I’m sure that has something to do with it. While I don’t know the specific mechanism as to hardness and strength, I’ll speculate that the heme iron naturally present in the liver “supercharges” the blood, which in turn assists in nutrient delivery, which while in solid training and nutrition mode equals good stuff where you want it.

Aside form that, the company says they use only free-range, non-treated beef, so the product is a really pure and very nutrient dense source of protein. I have to admit that the idea of beef liver is a little out there, but taking them made me a believer.

I know a lot of people scoff at the idea of liver tabs, but I think Beverly’s reputation holds up to the criticism. I wouldn’t use another company’s product (such as Universal), but these tabs do the job for me. It also seems that the people who downplay the product are always the people who have never used it. I used to get a hard time about using them from some guys that I train with until they tried them. Now the liver tabs are staples for all of them.

Yeah, I do. See my other reply for more specific info. I can’t say that they are the miracle pill or anything, but my training is always more productive when I am taking them on a regular basis.

Each tablet has 2 grams of protein, and you get 500 per bottle for about $30. That is equivalent to 2lbs. of powdered protein as far as grams. Give them a shot. If they are going to do something for you, you will know it after one bottle.

If you don’t like them, you will have no problems finding someone on the Beverly boards to take them off you hands.

I’m sure this is at the top of their list of concerns.

Very informed opinion.

I gave it my best shot, thanks!

BTW, choosing a name for one’s company is indeed at the top of one’s priority list.

I have been using their Super Pak Vitamins and have really liked them. I think some of their other products are very good too.

They have been around since 1967, so I think they are probably OK with their “gay” name.

So… you rep for them right? Be honest!

No need to stick up for them if they’ve been around so long and make such great products dude.

I beleive that they make some good products and would possibly try them myself. But their name is still prety damn metro.

No, sorry. I don’t need to rep for anyone. As I said earlier, their reputation stands on its own, as does any good supplement comapny. I was simply answering the question posed in the thread.

I just don’t understand why people refer to things (a company name in this case) in a homophobic fashion when they have something negative to say. What’s the point? Would you comment on a name of a company in a racist or ethnic fashion if you didn’t like them? If not, then why go the “gay” route?

If you don’t like the name of a company, that is up to you. But to use the term “gay” as a way to identify something in a negative fashion is just such an ignorant and insulting thing to do.

Maybe the person who came up with the company name named it after their daughter, wife, or grandmother. Or maybe that was their last name. Or maybe they just pulled it out of the sky. Frankly, I could pretty much care less what a supplement company is called - if it makes me healthier, then I’ll go with it. I’m not really interested in their sexual preference.
