Well, I agree that I would prefer my president to be more professional, but there is no rule requiring that. We kind of arbitrarily expected that presidents should act professionally, but it’s not required.
Trump is hardly the worst, Duarte from the Philippines would be one example. He repeatedly called on the populous to murder drugs users and dealers. Maduro is just flat insane.
Looking back at Clinton, while having professional moments, he also had his own public meltdowns according to George Stephanopoulos, who almost had a nervous break down working for him.
Quit pretending you know how I form my opinions. I found the article purely by accident. Further, it was a leftist journalist on a leftist news site. And I do not watch network news almost ever because I hate it. If something major is going on I will turn it on, but I don’t watch Fox, CNN, MSNBC or who ever the hell else is out there.
I didn’t say it wasn’t reported on, it’s just not big news comparatively. Remember the 7 country temporary travel ban that Trump implemented? People freaked. Marches and protests and the whole gamut.
Trump implements the removal of asylum status from most Central American countries and hardly a peep. No protests, no freak outs, just a little side story. If people keep concentrating on ‘twitter’ I wonder if it will even be challenged in court.
If he succeeds, there will be one court date with the ruling “You’re not even eligible to apply for asylum, we’ll make sure your on the next bus back to the southern boarder.”
Whether making “The Squad” the “face” of the Democratic Party was deliberate or not on Trump’s part (which I highly doubt…he’s just following the Conservative Media that he voraciously consumes from morning to night…)…they are there…
Each day we see four naive, anti-Israel Socialist as that face…the closer Trump comes to a second term. Even if Americans don’t hate “The Squad”…they are not buying their agenda…
I didn’t say I don’t consume MSM, I said I don’t watch it on TV. Fine you may have known, but there are many who didn’t notice. It wasn’t on the front page of many outlets. When I looked at CNN(.com) I didn’t see any article about it on the front page which is about all I can take of CNN.
Well, if your Grandpa wants to remove me himself, it will be an interesting fight if he comes to GA.
Trying to drag the topic back to your original premise of many voices vs party line and which is more effective. Hopefully we can take the thread back from the cheeto in chief.
I think for a political party the first question is effective at what?
Passing legislation and governing.
Winning elections and increasing power.
The answer for both is the same imho.
Party turmoil is best handled behind closed doors (like Nancy tried to do it and Mitch, Newt, Reid used to do it). Then you approach the public with a united front.
Democrats can’t win in Kentucky with the same platform they use in California. If you let the wing of the party enforce orthodoxy tests you’re going to have a rough time.
I came here legally and am an American Citizen. I am not worried one iota.
Trying to stop illegal immigration on the southern boarder doesn’t even remotely come close to the narrative of:
Please show the talking point from some decent source that the GOP is saying that legal Hispanics are running gangs coming for ‘their’ children.
That may be a KKK narrative, but it’s not a GOP narrative.
Again, I didn’t say it wasn’t covered at all. It just didn’t get the attention it normally would would get if not for the ‘twitter war’, because clear things people say on twitter are more news worthy than policy.
And what are you doing on FB? I thought that was for old people. The pre-answer the question, I do not use social media at all.
Yet we have a President who stokes the idea that people with your color of skin are all villains. Planting the seed in the minds of the uneducated that you aren’t a real American and perhaps you should go back to where you came from.
It’s not that he would have you removed. It’s that he would have the immigration policies tightened up to where someone like you coming here doesn’t happen moving forward.
Riiiiiiight
By legal I mean ‘legally here’ not ‘law abiding citizen.’
Again, how do you know this after openly stating you don’t consume those news sources.
My parents are yellow dog democrats, financially contribute to dnc or individual candidates, watch cnn every minute they aren’t watching msnbc, and literally oppose EVERY left plank except abortion and owning ar 15s (dad has a dozen guns). But when l go over there f’n trump, f’n trump.
Signed,
Confused Treco
I don’t get that impression at all. The impression I get is fence jumping and cheating the system is wrong and that those that do it, do not all have the purest of intentions otherwise they wouldn’t need to jump the boarder.
And like it or not, human trafficking is a pretty big problem. A lot of the people running the show on the south side of that border are gangsters a.k.a. coyotes and those bastards do pretty horrific shit to the people trying to cross the boarder. Rape and abuse of children is just another day at the office for these bastards. They require large sums of money for their help and they are not afraid to kill people trying to go it alone.
This isn’t America bad, Central Americans good. A lot of bad shit happens at that border that the U.S. has nothing to do with. Having a porous border is inhuman for the people trying to get in. We need to know who is coming in and out and some people need to be kept out.
I am all for immigration reform, work visas and all that but I am not for open borders. It dangerous and we don’t have enough resources as it is to deal with it.
And we legal types get pretty irritated at people who think they can just hop over when our family managed to do it legally.
BTW, Not all Hispanics are dark, we vary in colors, hair types, sizes ,etc. I am probably a shade or two darker than most strait up honky’s and I tan real easy and don’t really need sun block, but you couldn’t tell I am Hispanic by looks alone. I think. Some people have told me I have ‘hispanic’ features, but I resemble my mom a lot, who is lily white and European.
Traits can include what their policy or other beliefs are. Also, how someone treats an opponent is often a clear indicator of who they are as a person (Everyone knew Trump was a misogynistic ego maniac when they voted for him and that’s exactly what they got).
A willingness to treat your opponent with respect can translate to good leadership characteristics.
