Pelosi and Schumer must both be appalled. Neither are dumb enough to push that crew.

Religious people invented outrage culture. I bet you didn’t know that. They are still the best at it.
Of course he does. He just got done being outraged that hfactor would dare mention religion in a conversation talking about religion influencing politics.

That’s the spirit! Let low turnout signal our general disgust!
That’s why he just writes the check, or has someone else do it. Built in layers of plausible deniability keep those awkward public outings like my local Rep Tim Murphy suffered. He doesn’t say what for, or anything else for that matter. Just a couple of transactions.
Don’t take your eye off the ball. President and those running against him currently don’t matter. Only AOC does apparently
Honestly, I got tired of looking at her. She jumped the shark quicker that that last RHCP album. High rotation for about 3 days, then pffffft. ![]()
I’ve had drunken hook ups that held my interest longer than her.
I also think her “grip” on the party is insanely overrated and seems to be trotted out solely by Republicans. She is likely to be one and done with her approval ratings. She just gets a lot of buzz because she’s clickbait.
I don’t think she actually has any influence or grip with anybody but some idealistic fans and enough constituents in her district to get elected Once.
Even the “Squad” thing is sophomoric at best.
For the DEMS, yes.
However…the Trumpublicans couldn’t have made up a better foil than AOC and “the Squad”…and Trump has played them to his advantage like a fine-tuned violin.
Going to just have to disagree here my friend. Biden’s carrying about an average of 8 point advantage ahead of Trump in most head to heads. In head to heads on RCP I don’t think Trump has ever polled ahead of even Bernie.
After trending up Trumps started going down a bit again at least in the latest polls and has a putrid approval rating of under 45 percent. He seems bound and determined to try and fuck up what should be an easy 2020 win.
If he’s playing his opponents like a violin. I bet they hope he keeps strumming this tune. The squad may be an easy group to pick on but telling American citizens to go back where they came from isn’t a winning move. It’s yet another example of Trump trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
And every moment he spends punching them is a moment he is ignoring the top Dems who he will actually face.
One thing about these “transformational” candidates that enter Congress like “The Squad”.
History has shown; on both sides of the isle; that rarely, if ever do they either 1) transform or 2) last.
I really think that “The Squad” will be no different…and that they are, oh, about 10 minutes into their 15…
Not sure if this is the Democrat discussion thread since the orange man takes over every thread.
But Biden just drew 30 people in New Hampshire. A few of which were Biden staff. That same day Trump drew 8k-9k a few miles away.
Now if they were planning this as a small strategy meeting that just happens to be open to the public… why do it near Trump? Even if this wasn’t a “rally” per se the optics look very bad.
Why does it look bad? A few Biden supporters gathered in a restaurant. It’s not like Biden himself showed up to a 20,000 seat arena and ten people showed up.
Why schedule a venue with 30 people full stop? You’re running to be president of 300M+ not county dog catcher. But especially same day, same area as your opponent. It looks weak.
A venue? Isn’t it some sort of bakery? None of those 30 are running. Biden wasn’t there and who knows if he was even aware of it.
I agree the optics are bad. However I do think we tend to put too much emphasis on some of these crowds especially when an army of candidates remain. I have to think that President Obama coming to a place was always going to draw a lot more people than someone in the early stages of the Republican race 2012 or something.
I’m not trying to say it’s meaningless but I do think people come to view actual Presidents a lot. Hell I don’t like Trump but I’d go just to see the show and the lock her up send them back chanters.
In the grand scheme of things Trump isn’t going to have trouble drawing crowds. He’s not popular overall but incredibly popular with the people who are fans. And Democrats won’t have problems getting people to the polls to vote against him either.
Agreed. The projections I’ve seen is a 6 million popular vote loss and an electoral loss as well. The left coast wasn’t motivated to coronate Hillary, but they’ll be whipped up to depose Trump.
Yeah I still think it’s early. Trump has a lot going for him. Incumbent power, solid economy, nothing like Iraq. Yet he’s unpopular because of the way he behaves.
Last time was weird because we had the two most unpopular candidates head to head in modern history. This time we have someone who has the type of things to point to that should be an easy victory. But that may not be enough because of the type of person Trump remained when winning. He just kept being himself and if he loses it will be all on him.
Right now I wouldn’t put money either way but I’ve got to think if nothing changes it’s going to be real close. I think if the economy falters or he loses quite handedly. I know I’ve said it’s many times but if he was a normal person he’d be polling far ahead of anyone the Dems could run.
Edit: Every once in a while I’ll quote someone and the system will delete the quote. I have no idea why and it doesn’t always do this.
