I sat out the 2016 election for the same reasons you mentioned. Currently, it looks like the media/hollywood are making a play for Harris to be the DNC front runner. If my choices are her and Trump, I choose option 3 - abstention.
I get where you are coming from, and partial birth abortions are absolutely abhorrent to me (and I would venture to guess to a lot of folks who do support abortion). However, hanging your hat on a law that, like it or not, has been upheld by the supreme court for over 45 years is a null bet. The chances of this ever getting overturned are slim to none. Even conservative justices in the past have upheld the decision because they cannot overturn it in the context of the law.
It’s still a talking point for both sides because it gets people emotionally charged and therefore thinking without logic and reason. It becomes a “Vote for me becausse the other side sets off your emotions more” play.
Well if you aren’t running then I’m not voting for anybody.

I don’t want to make it impossible for people to get out of bad situations. I am all for immigration reform that would make it easier for people to get out of bed situations. What I am against is fence jumping with the expectation of entitlements.

I appreciate what you said. If faith motivates our political views it’s goong to be on life or death issues. Most Christians view abortion to be murder or the willful taking of human life. And there are a lot of abortions. So for the Christian if motivates by faith will vote for a raving lunatic who is against abortion over a gentleman who is completely for it.
Now understand I am not trying to argue abortion I am just using it as an example as to how a person of faith could be motivated to vote for an uncultured person over a person of polish.

And based on my understanding of what most Christians base their faith upon Donald Trump doesn’t fit that description. If you don’t want to talk about that just don’t talk about it but don’t act like it should be off the table when we’re talking about a political discussion forum that frankly doesn’t have a ton of discussion anyways.

I have actually been watching TV news the past couple of days because of Mueller. I heard a lot about Mueller, the squad and AOC. I haven’t heard anything about the democratic presidential candidates in 2 days. If they said anything about the candidates I must have been taking a leak because I didn’t hear any.
