Beta Alaline on Non-Training Days

What’s the latest research?

what is people’s personal opininions/results?

Thanks.

well it’s an energy/pump type supplement…so do ya really need it? Well, if your just starting on it then yes use it so your body may utilize it

I take one dose, which in powder form is a tiny tiny little spoon.

As for what bkmacky9288 said…I agree that it’s an energy/pump supplement, but I find that I can train longer than before. I mean a few years ago 30 to 45 mins and I’m done, now I can go even heavier and at 60 mins I have to stop because I need to get to work.

I used it last year during a three month training period for the Urbanathalon (12 mile race with obstacles). I also supplemented with creatine during this time, and the results were positive. I definitely noticed a difference with increased endurance and a decrease in muscle soreness post training.

The amount is based on bodyweight. I took 2g 3xday during my training (2g first thing in the AM, 2g pre and 2g post workout); I did the same on my off days. At one point I missed 3 days and when I started back up again I experienced severe stomach bloating and cramping for a few days. Part of this could’ve been from the creatine tho.

It definitely takes a while to get used to the nerve tingling.

I doubt you’ll find a lot of hard research on this topic, but my personal experience is that it depends on your training and the quantity you take on training days.

When I go through a period of using daily for two weeks or more, I can ‘coast’ for a while and just take Beta-7 on training days without notice a decrease in effectiveness.

It also seems that those using a non-time-release version have to take Beta alanine more frequently to get the same effect. They also tend to suffer from parastesia (tingling) to a much greater extent.

I don’t mind drinking surge preworkout fuel on off days before regular work. It is such a great addon for whey protein. I wonder if the method of ingestion (beta alanine in pill form or mixed in a complex drink like surge) matters much to building tolerance or anything else over the long-run? I’m not as a big a fan of the pill beta alanine products as I am of surge. If you took surge away from me, I doubt I would go out and pick up beta alanine tabs.

Overall it seems to be pretty safe, but as with everything should probably be used in moderation.
