Best tasting: Grow! Hands down. For the money you can’t beat it for taste or quality.
I personally use Low-Carb Grow! once or twice a day, one of those times being right before bed. At least until I run out of it. For all my other shakes, I’ll use ON 100%, which I pretty much HAVE TO mix with fruit to taste good, which I dont’ mind too much.
I buy the ON 100% Natural because I’ll mix it with oatmeal and milk for my kids, to supplement their diet with additional protein. I like the fact that they make a product line that doesn’t use artificial sweeteners, which my children cannot have. I also don’t expect that it would not be worth it to Biotest to make a similar product line, since it’s hard enough to make money in this industry without trying to cater to a nitche consumer base.
I also buy ZMA and Power Drive, and have bought HOT-ROX before too. I go through about 2 bottles of ZMA a month and at least 1 tub of Low-Carb Grow! a month. So I do buy Biotest products, and I agree with the opinion of some that need a cheap, everyday protein and also use a premium powder like Grow! I don’t think that ones that do that should be ridiculed or demonized for it, gimme a break people. Of course not everyone can afford the best, highest quality, that’s why there are different brands and types out there. I can’t afford to take Grow! all the time, that would be over $100 a month for me, I just can’t do it, considering all the other supplements I need every month. I ALREADY spend $100-150 a month on supps and protein right now, I couldn’t do any more. So don’t flame people just becuause they can’t ALWAYS afford the VERY FINEST. If they purchase Biotest products on a regular basis, no worries.
You said it!!!That’s why i still use ON’s strawberry with milk.
Maybe in a few years I’ll trade in my Honda for a Lexus

I guess everyone on this website seems to think that Grow! classic/mrp low carb is the best…however I take IDS quality whey and occasionally their smart gainer formula. IDS quality whey tastes so damn good that I crave it all the time, their vanilla cream flavor tastes like liquid cake icing. And at 26 dollars for 83 servings and a 1 scoop serving has 23 grams of protein I’d say thats a damn good deal!
Have you noticed the very low protein concentration of their protein products line? I’m talking about IDS WHEY protein
Best protein supps?- My choices- Grow!- Biotest, ultimate muscle protein by Beverly, Propetide By dorian yates approved
I also really like Gf- pro by ergo pharm, it’s essentially a whey isolate formula that goes through a spray drying process.
Does anyone use old school Designer Whey anymore? I bought a 2lb tub for $19 recently and it tastes great as long as I mix it with milk (Hood low carb) and not water. I have yet to try Grow!, but I will soon enough.
I usually stay out of these “My Favorite MRP” pissing matches just sticking to my Low-Carb Grow! Then I saw this:

Good Lord if you like that tasteless crap you REALLY need to try Grow! even in water its better than that Crap in Milk. Both for its quality protein and BY FAR the taste.
For us in the UK Grow! is just too expensive, i used to use VP2 Vanilla and that tasted great, but started getting too expensive as well, just found a new supplier that done a good deal on large tubs of ON Choc Chip Mint and i think it tatses great. Good protein content as well.

My opinion anyway.

Try the chocolate with some Hood milk and a few ice cubes and come back and talk to me. First, it’s disgusting in water. You [bold]must[/bold] drink it in milk. Second, I remember trying it years ago and almost barfing. The stuff was disgusting (back when MM2k and Dan Duchaine were the shit; at least to me.) Its gotten much better since then.

Ah No thanks!!! I will stick to the Chocolate Low-Carb Grow! that I diont have to mix with milk to taste awesome.
You say its a MUST to mix it with milk then damn that is an expensive MRP. You have the initail $20 for the Protein and then what $4+ for say four or five tubs of that carb count down milk.
So lets say $36-40 plus the haslle of Having to mix it with milk. Where as now I can carry powder and add water anytime.
Just doesnt sound like something I want to take on. Oh and Ive tried the designer within the last year.
Man tried about all the different brand between the Olympia and other expos. Sure some of the handouts there tasted AWESOME and Kicked even Grow! in the tail but then you walk by and see them mixing it and the are using a mix of Milk and WHOLE whipping Cream. That would make dirt taste good.
OK done with my little semi rant. To each there own I suppose like cars everyone has their favorite Brand but “Your” is always the best.
I can’t believe that people still use ON’s whey. That shit is just cheap whey. The best in my opinion is Grow!. Used to be Lean Body or Sci-Tec. Don’t just buy a whey because it’s cheap. Usually a cheap price means cheaply made.

In my experience, your opinion that ON is of poor quality is the minority one. What’s wrong with there being a cheap whey? Even if it is inexpensive, it still is the top of the heap when it comes to “cheap whey” for quality and taste(don’t take that to mean that I think it tastes GOOD).
And yes, if money were no object, we would ALL be downing 10 servings of Grow! a day. I know I would. ON does taste like “cheap whey” compared to Grow!, because that’s what it is, an inexpensive whey blend of protein that really NEEDS to be mixed with other flavors to mask the ass taste.
hmm, I’m not sure whether I’m agreeing or disagreeing with you at this point.

Eat your nutritionally void, falsely labeled chalk dust.
You know what though…you guys give me shit about my nutrition but I still seem to make excellent progress or atleast relatively good progress. I compensate pretty well for the fact that I’m a vegetarian.
Falsely labeled: I really hate to go off on Biotest but they won’t even tell you how much caffeine is in HOT-ROX! Quantitatively we know the stuff works but how do we justify that whe we try to explain it someone else.
“Uhh take this. This guy TC and Tim said it’s really good. Yes TC’s an english major but he does have a background in Molecular biology!”
Really how does that sound?
Biotest puts out some good shit but their are a lot of things that can be said against them (mostly false) if one wished to deconstruct your logic.

HOT-ROX has 125 mg. of caffeine per serving.
Why didn’t you just ask?
And by the way, in addition to a degree in English Language and Lit, I actually DO have a degree in Microbiology with an emphasis in molecular biology.
I have credits towards my Masters in both areas, too, but I never really followed a disciplined approach, preferring instead to take the classes that appealed to me.

Well, I remember being on a college budget, so I did buy some cheaper porteins, but ON was the first cheap one that I said “never again”. I found it to be almost worthless. Try Maximum Protein or SciTec. They are relativley cheap, but better quality than ON.
How do you know if one protein is “better quality” than another. I love my Low-Carb Grow!, don’t get me wrong, but I also have a container of ON whey that I use too. All I know is that the Costco whey gives me major gas and I won’t be buying that ever again.

Well, better quality will dissolve better, not bloat and gas you up badly, and won’t have a lot of other ingredients to help the taste and texture.
