I love the taste of all 5 flavors of Grow!. I love the fact that they taste great with just water. At a minimum, I use it right before bed for the casein. If I had to choose only one brand of protein, I’d choose Grow!
I was pretty disappointed with the taste of ON (I tried both chocolate and rocky road). Even mixed with milk, I wouldn’t call the taste “good”. It’s okay mixed with oatmeal.
Prorated with just water is tolerable, but with milk, I really like the taste. I’ve never had any digestive problems with it. If I ever have to use a lot of protein, I’ll use this as well as Grow! to keep the cost in check.

Okay, first of all, I hate that fucking phrase and the attitude that comes along with it. Do you really think we are all some dumb sheep who haven’t tried other brands, and aren’t capable of making up our own minds?
Why do I chose Biotest? Because I have tried other brands and couldn’t stand the products. No Kool-Aid there, bub. I have 3/4 full tubs of at least 3 other brands of protein sitting in my cupboard from when I ran out of Grow! and was stuck in a pinch - they are all getting thrown out when I move.
So, please drop the sheeple argument and realize that most of us are intelligent enough to chose our supplements wisely, and if we happen to chose Biotest - that’s why. I’m happy if you’ve found other products that you like, it’s great, but don’t knock those of us who happen to like what Biotest puts out.
If another brands products are up to my expectations, I will have absolutely no problem giving them their credit.

I’m not going to lie; I love Grow!. I use it during the V-diet but I’m not a white-collar worker yet…
Grow! is more expensive than the typical bucket o’ whey. Then again, the beef and chicken I buy are more expensive than what you’ll find in Costco, Sams, or even the typical grocery store. I believe in eating high quality food and I’m willing to sacrifice spending money on other things in order to do this.
If quality isn’t as important to you, there are definitely less expensive options available. If you can stomach the taste and don’t have any digestive issues choose the cheapest.
I agree 100% with this. I spend my money on my goals. Healthy habits provides me with a lot of extra money (not drinking/smoking). I choose to spend it on triathlon related stuff and nutrition. I spend a lot more then most college students on food. I have a ton of variety and i usually add a new goody each time.
I choose quality food when I can and when I think its worth it. I usually go with grass fed beef for the week but I stick with regular milk and fruits/veggies since I consume enough that I’d go poor.
Surprisingly, I spend about 3x as much as most college students on their groceries. Yet I still save more money in the long run.

Pro-Rated from Costco is the most palpable compared to the other brands. Add some extra splenda in there and it’s not bad! It’s basically like watered down chocolate milk. And I had to do urine tests in lab one day while I was cutting on a pretty carb-restricted diet and guessed what showed up in my urine?
Ketones and Protein…I’d guess that means the stuff is atleast somewhat legit. And I have yet to see Biotest give us an HPLC to assure us of quality. Neither does Pro-rated…but if you want to quantify your qualitative analysis…

But that is no reason to tell someone that if they use the site they must buy Grow!. Or that any other protein source is dog food. Or chide them because they aren’t drinking the Kool-Aid. Really–it’s not like this is some super secret infor available only here.
I’ve never seen anyone tell someone they must use any Biotest product.
I’ve worked in the supplement industry long enough to have learned to not trust most brands, though. Biotest is one of a few brands that I do trust because of what they do behind the scenes that never even makes it on to these forums. I have not seen one instance where they have sacrificed quality in order to increase sales.
I’ve worked with raw material suppiers and know that top quality protiens cost companies more than the discount proteins consumers purchase online. Even with volume discounts and all that large volume manufactures receive, it’s not economically possible to buy a 5 or 10 pound package of high-quality protein for the prices that are commonly found online. So, I know these are not top quality products.
This doesn’t mean that they should be taken off the market or are dangerous in any way. They just are not something I use or recommend.
Never once have I questioned the quality or value of any of the products marketed here. Just respecting others choice to buy elsewhere for whatever reason they choose.
That said
Why anyone would go onto a site that provides products and then ask what is the best product–well I’ve always wondered that about this very question every month when somebody asks it.

I’ve not once knocked someone who likes or uses Grow!. As stated I use the product. I have no beef about expounding on the virtues of a great product, And I do believe Grow! to be such a product.
My beef is with the people who refuse to believe their exists nothing else in the world that can be of equal or dare I say better quality or given value in the entire free world besides this product.
And I hate the fuckin’ term sheeple and the attitude that goes with it. So there we’re even
I guess everyone on this website seems to think that Grow! classic/mrp low carb is the best…however I take IDS quality whey and occasionally their smart gainer formula. IDS quality whey tastes so damn good that I crave it all the time, their vanilla cream flavor tastes like liquid cake icing. And at 26 dollars for 83 servings and a 1 scoop serving has 23 grams of protein I’d say thats a damn good deal!

You know what though…you guys give me shit about my nutrition but I still seem to make excellent progress or atleast relatively good progress. I compensate pretty well for the fact that I’m a vegetarian.
Falsely labeled: I really hate to go off on Biotest but they won’t even tell you how much caffeine is in HOT-ROX! Quantitatively we know the stuff works but how do we justify that whe we try to explain it someone else.
“Uhh take this. This guy TC and Tim said it’s really good. Yes TC’s an english major but he does have a background in Molecular biology!”
Really how does that sound?
Biotest puts out some good shit but their are a lot of things that can be said against them (mostly false) if one wished to deconstruct your logic.
I don’t think that it’s “bogus” to believe that there is a certain premium attached to placing quality information, coaches and trainers, all in one place, with new information provided almost on a daily basis (via “Prime Times”, tips, Blogs, “Atomic Dogs”, articles, etc.)…
No search…no looking at multiple sites… just one mouse-click, and you have access to some of the top coaches, trainers and authors in their respective fields…
I’ve tried a bunch of the proteins/MRPs available in Australia, most of them (only a few bucks) cheaper than Low-Carb Grow! (from a local distributor where I can save on shipping) and since trying it I don’t think I’ll cost-cut again.
Best tasting: Grow! Hands down. For the money you can’t beat it for taste or quality.
I personally use Low-Carb Grow! once or twice a day, one of those times being right before bed. At least until I run out of it. For all my other shakes, I’ll use ON 100%, which I pretty much HAVE TO mix with fruit to taste good, which I dont’ mind too much.
I buy the ON 100% Natural because I’ll mix it with oatmeal and milk for my kids, to supplement their diet with additional protein. I like the fact that they make a product line that doesn’t use artificial sweeteners, which my children cannot have. I also don’t expect that it would not be worth it to Biotest to make a similar product line, since it’s hard enough to make money in this industry without trying to cater to a nitche consumer base.
I also buy ZMA and Power Drive, and have bought HOT-ROX before too. I go through about 2 bottles of ZMA a month and at least 1 tub of Low-Carb Grow! a month. So I do buy Biotest products, and I agree with the opinion of some that need a cheap, everyday protein and also use a premium powder like Grow! I don’t think that ones that do that should be ridiculed or demonized for it, gimme a break people. Of course not everyone can afford the best, highest quality, that’s why there are different brands and types out there. I can’t afford to take Grow! all the time, that would be over $100 a month for me, I just can’t do it, considering all the other supplements I need every month. I ALREADY spend $100-150 a month on supps and protein right now, I couldn’t do any more. So don’t flame people just becuause they can’t ALWAYS afford the VERY FINEST. If they purchase Biotest products on a regular basis, leave them alone.

How about Muscle Milk, taste great. Anyone actually know the quality of it?
Don’t know the quality, it seems pretty good and it tastes great. However, it is LOADED with fat.
Tastes like Baskin Robins…and for only $18 thats pretty cheap. I just dont know how good the quality is, Im thinkin bout switching over to Grow!. Any pros\cons on either protein?
I like ON’s Tropical Punch. The best flavor out of ON stuff, mixes well, and is cheap. Also, I’ve heard ON has been tested by independent labs to meet their label claims. I basically use it for cutting diets when I eat about 250g of protein a day, trying to minimize carbs and sat fats. About $1.50 for 100g of protein online. Just take 15g every 1.5 hours or so while awake; then switch to Grow! before sleep. Since this is just to keep protein in the blood (and you don’t need the fast high quality whey as in post workout or the slow release of micellar casein during sleep), the quality is just fine.
Sure, if I were loaded, I think Grow! would be my choice in taste. But at 5 times the cost per gram of protein when quality isn’t as relevant, I think I buckle.

i was wondering the same thing,it seems to be a quality product though ive heard that its not necasarily good for after work out but works great as a meal replacment, due to the absorption rate.
