Best Protein Source for Vegetarians

I think mahler likes brown rice protein. Nutrabiotic I think is the one you want. There are two on the net, one low carb (I think nutrabiotic) and one other.

Why must people continue repeating old information on plant proteins being incomplete.

Plant proteins contain ALL of the amino acids required for humans (ie the essential amino acids).

However, some of the essential amino acids are low compared with the FAO/WHO requirements.
the FAO/WHO requirements are for children and subjects consuming low levels of dietary protein (ie around 40grams or less per day)
To the average bodybuilder consuming hundreds of grams per day, low levels of an amino acid mean nothing, and there is no need to complement anything with another food source.

I’ve used Seitan, but not sure how high is it’s quality of protein. Maybe one of the experts could chime in. You can buy Seitan pre-made, in blocks, like tofu, except it’s a wheat gluten product. You have to read labels, as some Seitan is also made with soy flour. You can also buy powder, which you add seasonings, form into dough, and boil in vegetable broth or water; from there you can cook it into stews, soups, etc. It’s a kinda rubbery-chewy textured product.

Nutri-Biotic makes an excellent tasting Rice Protein powder. You can make shakes, or mix the neutral flavor into savory dishes to add protein content.

But aren’t all the amino acids important? Just a thought…

Which is the best protein source for vegetarians?

Meat

Why is it that a person asking an honest question and seeking honest advice have to deal with answers like this?[/quote]

It is a joke. If you don’t find it funny, ignore it. It is the nature of the internet.

Hey Marc Anthony,
I too am a vegetarian. I always thought you couldn’t build a decent body on a vegetarian diet, but have recently come to realise how wrong I was.
I have met 2 guys who are both vegetarians (No meat fish or eggs) and they are massive. I asked them where they get their protien from, and they told me beans + rice, skimmed milk, cottage cheese, nuts and seeds, and whey protien shakes . All this stuff about not being able to build muscle without eating meat is all bullshit.
I was the one who originally asked ‘protien powda’ about his diet by the way (Thanks Protien powda it was a great help).

Some are essential, some are not

Aside from the joke, hemp seed protein powder is supposed to contain all the essential amino acids and has other health benefits. Never tried the powder, but the seeds are yummy.

Yep meat is the best protein source , it has creatine and bovine steroids in it.
