Hi All -
FYI: I did some shopping around and this is the place where I’ve consistently found the best pricing on labs. You can choose to go to either a Quest or LabCorp collection center. No Dr. Rx needed and I always check the “weekly promotions” where sometimes you’ll find packages at discount or just a 15% off Quest online coupon. Check it out.
I just did a whole round of labs my Dr. wanted and he was very surprised the price I paid.
You do NOT go to a LC or QU collection point. It appears that you go to a 3rd party place like the “anylabtestnow” centers. At least that is how it is on the examples I checked. Not necessary a bad thing, just pointing it out.
Pricing comparisons … I am checking a few item for pricing comparison …
SHBG Ulta: $39 Discountedlabs: $68.36
TEST (free, total, AND SHBG): Ulta: $57 Discountedlabs: no package
Interesting package: cbc, free & total T, SHBG and estradiol: $81
Packages appear to be cheaper at Ulta … EXCEPT that the Testosterone does not include “No upper limit” and the Estradiol is NOT the sensitive test.
The test numbers I looked at, were all quest.
They must have a deal with BioTe (the pellet that I am also using) because many of the tests show BioTE as part of the test name. Again, not a bad thing.
The prices seem to be about 20% lower than discountedlabs. Interesting find. Thank you brad.
PS: I use the TRT MALE Hormone/Wellness Follow Up Panel at discountedlabs for $189. I tried putting together a similar panel at Ulta and couldn’t for this price.
I’m guessing who they send you to as a lab depends on where you live. I’ve booked stuff through them and I’m positive in my case I went to Quest labs both times and I could have gone to LabCorp, but they had a slightly better offer on Quest testing.
As with any tip, I’m sure this isn’t necessarily better for everyone in all cases, but I think given how costly some of this testing is, I think it’s worth checking out.
It is very possible I am incorrect. I looked at my local area (and statewide) and found they would send me to alternate labs even though I have a labcorp office near my house.
If I just wanted a few quick tests, I will use this lab. Some of the prices are the lowest I have seen so far.
I am still using Discountedlabs.com for all my lab work because I can’t beat the panel prices.
Right now, I am buying the “hormone and wellness panel for men” at $261.45, which includes CBD, CMP, Lipid, Test Free, Estrad Sen, DHEA, TSH, Free T3, PSA, LH, and FSH.
The cost of the panel is $261.45. I add on SHBG for an additional $68.36.
I noticed today that someone had posted about another lab “health-tests-direct.com”. They do not have many packages, so I had to quote the above tests directly. The total for the same tests (excluding SHBG) was $477.84. SHBG was another $78.92.
Just FYI.
Discountedlabs is slow, and they don’t proactively check for your complete results. They wait until you ask about them which is frustrating. They also run it like a part time job, so don’t plan on any office hours.
BUT … I can’t beat their prices yet on the most comprehensive panels. And I keep trying!
I have used discountlabs.com for all my labs and i have never experienced this at all. I set it up online. They email me my requisite. I drop by labcorp. I’m emailed the results within 5 working days. Every single time. I forward that to my docs office. She reviews and we discuss. They are really good and their prices are awesome.
$254 I pay the doctor, no insurance, Quest
I must have missed something, I submitted less than half of the above on discountlabs.com and was already to $383.
