Hi everyone,
Me and my husband are planning to build a small home gym and stay more consistent with our workouts. After exploring different equipment options, a rowing machine seems like one of the best additions for a full-body workout.
Since we’re both complete beginners, we’ve been trying to understand what actually makes the best home gym rowing machine—something that’s comfortable, durable, and easy to use long term without feeling overwhelming.
We’ve done some research and shortlisted a few models that keep coming up, but now we’re a bit unsure about which one would be the right fit for us:
-
Concept2 RowErg – seems like the gold standard and highly recommended everywhere
-
YOSUDA Magnetic Rowing Machine – more budget-friendly and quieter for home use
-
WaterRower Natural Rowing Machine – love the design and realistic rowing feel
-
MERACH R50 Rowing Machine – looks like a good balance with smart/app features
What we’ve understood so far:
-
Air rowers feel more like real rowing but can be noisy
-
Magnetic rowers are quieter and probably better for home gym setups
-
Water rowers feel smoother but are more of a premium option
Still, it’s hard to know what actually matters once you start using it regularly in a home gym environment.
We’d really appreciate advice from people who have experience:
-
Which rowing machine do you use in your home gym?
-
Is it beginner-friendly and comfortable for regular use?
-
Did you notice any issues after a few months?
-
If you had to choose again, would you go with the same one?
We’re just trying to make a smart decision and avoid wasting money on the wrong option. Any honest feedback would really help us out ![]()
