I was always curious about those shaolin monks. I like to see one of those guys fight. They spend every waking minute training to the point where their bodies do anything they are told to. I saw a documentary where they were pouring this 200lb iron kettle with one hand and they weren’t allowed to spill a drop…and hanging upside down by their toes from wooden beams. crazy
There was a video on google where they had a monk spar with a black belt TKD guy. The monk didn’t attack, all he did was evade, making the guys best kicks seem like they were being thrown by a 3 year old kid. Then he did these crazy flip kicks and the TKD guy ran from the ring. Search it on google video, it was nuts.
Mmmm…I just saw the video, I’m not sure what to make out of it. The monk seems pretty athletic and good at what he’s doing but I can’t tell if he can actually fight.
I did however was fortuante enough to meet one of these monks. I asked him if I can hit him in the ribs and abdomen area and he agreed. I proceeded to hit him with all I got - punches, kicks and knees all in the rib, ab area. I hit him as hard as I can and as many times as I can until I was tired. He just stood there like nothing happened while I was huffing and puffing. Now, I don’t know if he can fight or not, but I know I wouldn’t wanna fight him.
I’m not going to say bruce Lee was the best figter. But he was not just a film star! He Made MMA! He was a great Martial Art Guru! He lived martial arts and he was an actor second! Study up next time!!
I realise that Bruce Lee trained in martial arts (I can’t believe I’m getting into this discussion) but he didn’t compete in MMA tournaments.
There are no documented incidents of him getting taken to the ground and submitted (due to the fact that he never competed with rules allowing such an occurrence), but you can bet your ass that any of the Heavyweights in Pride would ruin his shit.
To qualify as being the greatest fighter of all time you have to be a heavyweight. If Heavyweights weren’t superior to their lighter counterparts there wouldn’t be a need for weight classes.
Total elimination absolute showed that Heavyweights will beat smaller guys (even if the ‘smaller’ guy is Wanderlei Silva). Ergo, Bruce Lee is not viable for the title of ‘T-Nation’s greatest fighter of all time’.
I think I changed my mind, my vote goes to Jack Bauer.

You’re an idiot. Being heavier than someone doesn’t mean you can beat them in the cage. I’m not reffering to Lee here, but there are pleanty of fighters that would fuck-up the fatbastard heavyweights of pride, UFC, and k-1.

Today with all the bullshit fighting styles and new rules, in my opinion fighting doesnt serve its purpose. Going back and thinking about everyone in the past, and today, who do you think the best fighter the world has ever seen is? Bruce Lee takes my vote…
Bruce Lee was awesome, but Luke Skywalker could have used the Force to deflect Bruce’s one-inch punch. And Luke was able to defeat Darth Vader, who was pretty badass. So my vote goes to Luke.
The only thing that can stop a one inch punch from Bruce lee is another one inch punch from Bruce lee.
I’d put Bruce Lee’s one inch punch up against Peter Aert’s shin.
The best fighter ever
ROYCE GRACIE although i hate his cockiness and his matches are boring as shit to watch he is the best fighter … i watched a match last night where he weighed 176 and his opponent weighted 250 Gracie knocked him out with a should in the back of the neck.

I laugh at your comparison. As an avid devotee of bruceleeism, Section 5 paragraph 3 of the great book states:
And on the 8th day, god created the one inch puncheth, and bestowed thine gift on one who was worthy. Upon realizing the magnitude of his mistake, he banished the man called Lee to earth, where he would forever be a god among mortals, less he rule the heavens itself with thine unholy power.

I met the pope once, i asked him the same thing but he said no, what a pussy.
Not getting into the reason why you asked him that, it is still pretty impressive anyways. those muthafuckas are crrraaaaazzziiieee.
It’s a good thing you didn’t do that to a real MMA guy though, because your arm and leg would have exploded on contact.

I only hope the error of my ways can be forgiven by Him.
