There are some great covers that are better than the original.
Mettalica’s cover of ‘Turn the Page’ was epic, and way better than the original, which was pretty good too.
Soulfly did a cover of “Meantime” by Helmet that was excellent imo.
Nancy Wilson’s cover of “I Can’t Make You Love Me” is better than Bonnie Raitt’s
Manfred Mann’s cover of “Blinded By The Light” is better than Springsteen’s
Metal Church’s cover of “Highway Star” is better than Deep Purple’s
Hendrix’s version of “All Along The Watchtower” is better than Bob Dylan’s
M.A.C.C.'s version of “Hey Babe” is better than Hendrix’s
Pearl Jam - 'Love Reign o’er Me’love reign o’er me
I’m not a big fan of covers, but I thought they did an excellent job on this tune.
Shinedown - Simple Man
Can’t youtube it, it’s blocked at work.
I went to see Slipknot earlier in the summer and more recently Lamb Of God. Great shows btw…My question is, don’t bands(metal) do covers live anymore?..when I was younger and went to shows it was always a bonus to hear covers. Just curious.
Also, if you ever get a chance to see Gwar(they backed up LOG) GO!..fucking hilarious. Warning, if your in the front yer gonna get wet lol.
Paul Anka has a whole album of covers done in the hip style of Sinatra.
Here’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”

I saw them live once and it was by far the best song of the show… I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing though(that their best song isn’t technically theirs could be bad, but that they play it amazingly well is clearly really good).
alter bridge does great covers. did zep’s kashmir and it is unreal.
