Sure; as soon as you Brits leave New York and LA once in a while! ;-)
But, but…

Outside of the cities there is just a vast wilderness…

Not lots of good choices, but there are some really good ones being sold on the street. There is one Italian guy who has a food stall called Tongue n’ Cheek. He makes a burger called ‘the heartbreaker’ that has ground chuck, ox heart, tripe and a few other crazy organ meats all ground up and put into it. I kid you not it is one of the best burgers i’ve had. Eating that thing is a religious experience!
WHERE??? WHERE??? WHERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR???

Where can I find that Italiano’s stalls of guts and entrails appetizers?
He trades about 3-4 times a week but he has a regular spot at Kings Cross at KERB’s lunch market every week. Go to Kerbfood.com and check out the lineup for their kings cross market and you will see when he is there! Do it! I promise you won’t regret it!

I hear the “Ari Gold” burger from Patty & Bun on James Street is wonderful.

There’s also a place called Duke’s Brew And Que in Hackney that do magnificent beef ribs, however I believe I’ve heard people tell me they love the burger there too. (But seriously, if you need ribs…).

Also The Ship on Jews Row (Have your laugh you devils.) has some exquisite burgers, one of the only I’ve actually eaten for myself, but it is a marvel to behold.

This next site is of a mobile burger van run by a New Yorker who’s set up a business round London, you’ll have to check the site for his location. Seems like a rather good choice if you’re after the feel of an American-made burger.

I can’t comment on any of the steakhouses or restaurants up north, simply because I’ve never been in that area of England long enough to really get around to restaurant calls, but these are some very good London ones to check out. If I take a trip back to Oxford any time soon and this thread is still going on, I may head around some restaurants there and report back.

Have fun!
Zan (a lady) runs the bleeker burger truck. She is insanely cool and makes an insane burger. i mentioned her earlier, but sadly haven’t gotten her on any of the films yet.

Ah she’s a woman? I apologise, for some reason I was under the presumption she was a man. I have not heard too much about her produce, but popular opinion tells me she really is very good. I like the idea of her running around different parts of London and setting up her “stand” all around to bring in new customers, very creative.

Check out my film that i started the thread with. There are tons of people doing just that. Really exciting street food scene going on right now. definitely check out zan if you can. she gets insanely good beef and makes a special sauce that i could probably drizzle on a plank of wood and enjoy it.

I don’t get around to London all that often, but if I ever find myself taking a trip I will definitely look up where she’s going to be when I get there. What would you say were the absolute favourites you’ve come across so far in your travels? If you had to pick say… three or five top crafters?

I’d quite like to do a road trip across the USA. man vs Food style.

Probably die on the way from a heart attack.

Amiright?
Cornfields and Indians.

If you were serious about your cheat meal, go to a place called ‘Mangetout’ in Southend (a 30 minute train journey from london). Man V Food style burgers, wraps, sandwiches. The place is HEAVEN after a heavy squat day!

That is an INSANELY difficult question. That is kind of like ranking a favorite movie, almost impossible. But i will try…(in no particular order)…1. The Rib Man- Dude spends 12 hours smoking ribs in a special rub until they are just falling off the bone. He then takes all the meat and puts it into a bun that is the size of my head and smothers it in his homemade sauce called “holy fuck” sauce. It is massive and it is of otherworldly quality. 2. Kimchee Cult- This guy has totally devoted himself to making things with kimchee (japanese pickled cabbage). He grows and ferments the stuff himself, for up to a month before he actually sells it. His main thing is the kimchee burger with cheese. I was skeptical before i had it but i could eat this every day. Awesome roll, Insane beef, great cheese and the kimchee almost cuts the richness of all that with this tang that makes for such an awesome combo. i am just hooked on these. 3. Tongue n’ Cheek. I talked about him earlier. he makes burgers and different sandwiches from rarely used cuts of meet like heart, liver, tongue, tripe. 4. Official Fry Up Material- Two guys who gutted an ambulance and put two griddles in it and started doing breakfast. They now make the absolute best bacon, egg, sausage and cheese sandwich you will ever have. I would commit crimes for this thing. They use all local and organic produce (eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage). Just insane. I have some shots of it in my second video which i linked to above. I’ve got to run right now (It’s heavy pull day!!!) but i will try and add others to this list later.
