Best 5/3/1 Template For Strength?

Anyone experience with strength gains using the simplest strength programming? I hear so little of it nowadays. I also noticed in beyond it was said to do SST with Straight leg deadlifts, Front squats, Incline Bench press and close grip bench press. In Forever it states to use the SST with the main lifts. Why’s that? Or does it not matter which you take?

BTW when doing f.e. 25-50 reps for each assistance category. One day i’m doing tempo squats for 6 sets of 3 reps with 50 % tm. which aren’t hard at all, just for technique training. I’m thought this was ok, because it actually isn’t assistance exercise, but it is really light and just for the sake of technique. Any thoughts of this? Or should i still ditch it and stick to the plan and do f.e. 4 x 12 bulgarian split in stead?

I think he assumes the reader is familiar with the template. Also, he writes that an alternate lift can be used with any program with supplemental work.

I thought I had read the Forever book enough times not to miss anything, but the widowmaker circuits slipped somehow. Thank you for bringing them up, looks like a lot of fun!
