I have decided to do Berardi’s “Massive Eating” diet. I understand exactly how to organize it on workout days - but the question is how to do it on non-workout days? Why is this an issue?
Berardi has 2 of his 8 example meals as either workout or post-workout meals. This makes up quite a few calories and two Protein/Carb meals. How do we replace these during non-WO days? I am guessing, keep using the P+C combo for both meals, but substitute the dextrose/maltodextrin with real carbs.
Is it necessary to put all Protein + Carb meals at the beginning of the day on non-workout days? The body can absorb the excess of carbs before bed on workout days because it is still receptive after the lifting. On non-workout days, I am guessing these late night carbs turn to fat. So is it necessary to eat the Protein/Fat meals before bed on non-WO days?
The days yes just replace the intake with real food carb sources and as for the when yes best to have the carbs early fats late on this plan following the diet. I wouldnt however my self worry about things like fruit late in the day etc just limit thet cabrs and Kinds you have late in the day aim to have lower GI stuff and more fats.
Dont over complicate it your adding mass relax a bit choose healthy foods.

I won’t start another thread for my question regarding almost the same matter, so here goes:
I’m currently cutting @ 2500kcal. So far lost 6 pounds. I will be cutting for another month and after that start gradually increasing caloric intake as Massive Eating suggest.
What do you fellow T-Men think, should I go straight from cutting (2500) to maintenance (roughly 3000) and from there have those 250kcal added biweekly (perhaps as high as the ME calculator suggests, which is about 4000kcaL) as recommended in ME Pt2 Reloaded?
Or should “spend” a month increasing from 2500 to 3000 and by doing that set my metabolism for higher intake?
My fear for straight popping from 2500 to 3000 is that my body will start store fat like crazy, but being the skinny bastard I am (~187lbs, bf15%, 185cm), this is probably unnecessary fear.
So the whole plan for the first half of this year is finish cutting (weight about 82kg (180lbs). Then do gradual intake increases to the end of May (and get weight to about 90kgs = ~198-200lbs).
I’m not sure how much should I pack mass, I think that with my body, I’ll be having lots of fatgain so close to 4000kcal intake maybe too much. And finally do cutting again for maybe a month or two (back to 85kg (187lbs).
By the end of that it will be July or August. I aim for about 185-190 pounds in less than 15% bf. Then depending how this plan worked, do it again for the second half of the year. So in the end of 2007 I’d be like 195-200 pounds in less than 15%bf. Sounds like a plan?
I’d also like to hear your opinion about this: Should I do gradual decreases in energy intake when going go cutting? This is what CT talked about in some thread.
