I have heard a lot of different things and one of the things I had heard from a buddy of mine was," Oh, you’re taking creatine monohydrate? All you’re going to do is retain water." I’m still fairly new to the whole gym thing. I’ve been hard at it for 1 1/2 years and gone from barely being able to do 185 lbs. once, to being able to lift 225 lbs. 6 times.
I understand creatine creates more ATP for the body, but are there any other added benefits to taking creatine? And what would be the proper way to take it? Thank you all for any advice you post. I truly appreciate it!
Cliff, creatine(especially monohydrate) is most likely the most researched and most discussed supplement ever.
and if you want you can research on sites like Pubmed for studies on some of the other benefits other than the standard strength boost. This site I’m sure has several articles on it as well, starting with the product description for their micronized creatine would be a good start.
Most people take a steady dosage of 5-10 grams daily, no need to “load”.
