##Gotta admit, I haven’t been myself as of late. Been having mini crisis or as I like to call it, growing up hahahaha. Think I’ll possibly stop lifting for a while to focus on my upcoming PT test on the 21st of November. I could talk about my “issues” but they’re not interesting nor are they significant enough for me to mention.

Not entirely sure if I’m allowed to post the links here but I’ll be using…

The Twenty Pullups Challenge
twentypullups.com

Hundred Pushups

Two Hundred Sit-Ups

… for the stuff so the W1D1C1 would make sense. Gonna run them everyday hence starting off slow. PT test on the 21st of November.

Man, I’ve just had this sudden realization that I’m actually pretty fucking weak.

This are some of my best lifts I’ve done, as far as I can recall, in my entire life aka past 3 years max. My bodyweight would be around 73-78kgs. I’m 1.75m. I’m 19 this year.

Squat (low bar)
160kgs x1 went up stupid fast and I jumped to 180 and failed, 150kgs x3, 140kgs x8

Squat (high bar)
150kgs x1, 140kgs x3-4?

Bench (with no pause)
80kgs x10, 90kgs x2

Bench (with pause)
90kgs x1, at a meet

Close Grip Bench Press (without pause)
90kgs x3

Close Grip Bench Press (with pause)
95kgs x2

Conventional Deadlift
160kgs x3-5?, 170kgs x1

Sumo Deadlift
180kgs x1, 190kgs x1 hitched

Overhead Press
60kgs x4, 65kgs x1

Power Jerk
90kgs x2

Clean
100kgs x1

Snatch
72.5kgs x1

Pull Ups
14 is the most I can remember in recent memory, recent being the past 1-2 years.

Farmer’s Walk
100kgs per hand, 15m back and forth
this one, I’m not too upset, I guess.

God damn, what have I been doing for the past 3 years of lifting. I’ve literally no commendable achievement. Oh and might I add, I look like shit so that annoys me too.

Too much. Pick a discipline and commit to it 100%. With your work ethic, you’ll do well. Just don’t do so many different things at once.

Shins hurting like crazy. Who knew sit ups were so hard and god damn, running just sucks.

Would you say I have an issue of program hopping or in this case, discipline hopping?

I think it’s more a matter of spreading yourself too thin. You don’t start something, then stop completely to do something else; you add stuff and keep doing everything.

I would suggest either picking a discipline and pursuing only that (PL, strongman, WL, whatever); or pick three or four lifts and work to get good at them. You could pick two upper and two lower, and do those abs whatever assistance drives them until you achieve what you want and then pick another four.

For years I worked WAY too hard and way too…not smart. I remember a time where I’d get myself to borderline tears before a deadlift AMRAP set and just yank it off the floor screaming in my garage alone. Then, I’d wake up and actually wonder if my sacrum was yanked out of my body in the aforementioned process and was on the floor somewhere left behind.

So…the one thing I can say that has worked for me is being very astute and pragmatic and maintaining that often and for a long period of time. If you look at my log, I’m not even really doing that much these days. I have minimal assistance and conditioning stuff, but I’m committing 100% focus into the things I am doing, and it’s paying dividends. It’s cliche to say that I feel, because it’s literally what every fucking advanced-elite lifter is saying to others, but it’s really so true. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go hard as fuck sometimes, but try to discern when you’re working hard for egos sake vs prudence. @MarkKO is right and I didn’t even read what he said until I finished typing this so…LOL

Stopped because shins started hurting like crazy, was planning on going for 3 rounds at that pace though. Was the first time running felt bouncy though, maybe I’m finally getting the hang of it.

I’m going to be a bitch about it. I happen to be going through a phase of my life where I’m just… Off. Like something isn’t right with me and I’ve no idea what it is. Including this in my training log so when I look back, at least I know what’s wrong with me.

Man, I sound like a depressing emo kid and that’s just. Funny.

Snatch
warmed up a little and worked up to 80kgs to a few misses, all pretty close though. Video is here.

I realise that my high pull is lacking and I generally lack strength for my high pull.

oh and the little fumble was my unfamiliarity with straps. First time using straps for a ‘heavy’ snatch.

Clean and Jerk
worked up to 70kgs but I couldn’t jerk it cause… Possibly my wrist or maybe I just suck.

Squat
60kgs x1
80kgs x1
100kgs x1
120kgs x1
130kgs x0

Been acting a little weird as of late, not self diagnosing but I’m showing symptoms of depression or at least some sort of mental type thing. Not saying I’ve depression. Got an appointment with the school counsellor, better to have a professional’s opinion. Having random acts of… Violent outbursts.

Be careful with those. They can have seriously bad consequences for you and anyone nearby.

Good call to see the counsellor.

Believe I have said this before, but I had some anger management issues. I had a counselor explain to me that no matter where you go, there will be some ass hole that needs a beating. Just remember that you were not appointed by god to administer the beating - let somebody else do it.

Didn’t get to go to counselling or school today. Mouth ulcer that’s infected. Can barely talk let alone eat/drink. Probably not gonna train much if at all this week.
