Being a Bro and Being a Douche?

Whats the difference? Seriously,I’d love to know. I have so many friends from so many background and labels that depending on a situation, one group might consider it being fun and harmless, another set of people consider “douchey”

Ill give an example. Last Friday night,My friend Matt, his girl Jean, and I were going to a bar on Main Street to see one of his favorite indie bands. While riding the light rail,he was telling me about the street. (I never really hung out in Downtown) It was basically a street full of clubs and bars and when we got there, their were people all over the place. It was really fun. I suggest that we come back again later and go bar hopping. He explain to me that only douche bags do that “With their affliction shirts and designer jeans” I forgot to mention that he was a Hipster. I had fun that night and was able to grab a number from a tall brunette.

The next night,I hung out with my friend Rick and we both went to Richs that night. (Richs is a club in Midtown, its as close to a warehouse NY club as we can get and its one of the few places that regularly plays Trance) On the car ride there,I told him about the other night. I told him about the street, what was going on that night, how much fun I was having and he told me “Man,no offense but your friend sounds like a typical pretentious hipster douche bag” Again,I had fun that night and closed the night out with a new facebook friend which happens to be a short, busty Mexican girl.

Okay,so…which one of these situation was “Douchey”? They are both my bros but they are also very conflicted and dynamically different. What defines what is a douche? Was Matt a douche? Rick? ME?? Anyway,Im so glad I have that extraordinary ability to make any situation fun. Sorry for the long read, here are tits for your trouble.

All of you are douches to somebody. Don’t worry about it. You had fun. It’s too subjective.

Did you have fun?

Did you promise marriage to get laid?

Kick puppies/small girls/people in wheelchairs?

Are you asian?

Then you are probably good at math.

I hate hipsters. Hate hate hate them. Your friend is a douche.

OP,
Your post has clearly established you as a douche, rather than a bro. Douches worry about whether or not their behavior is douchey.

Hipsters are kinda the worst. They usually are the quickest to judge other people who arent hipsters.

Its no seceret that bro’s are hipsters greatest enemy. Kinda like a Muslim and Jewish thing but with Hipsters and Bro’s.

whats about a brah?

Okay I have one question, 10000 internet points do you live in Austin?

Yea I forgot and caught that from other thread. Well if you are in Houston you cant be all that bad, my sis lives in Austin and there are some fucking weirdos there.

And to answer your question I think you have to go with the clothes to decide what they are.

Well if I went with that reasoning,I would be wrong for bashing matt because he always brags about shopping at Goodwill. Not cool to hate on someone that shops there. (Even though he can afford nicer clothes) Rick, indeed, wears that Affliction. It says that your from Texas, what city?

Houston is midrange. I don’t see that many “extremes” around here. Like guidos. I never see anything like that anywhere. I don’t really see how the term “hipster” really applies either because I have had tons of friends into “indie bands” as well as everything else. I see very few people who are “all this” or “all that”. Both “hipsters” and “dudes in affliction tshirts” can be douches.

I tend to think anyone who is following a trend as a way of life is a douche. They aren’t real. No one gives a shit about some guy’s affliction shirt. In fact, if he acts like his shirt means anything other than that he paid a lot for a fucking shirt, he is an ass as well as a douche.

Likewise for the guy who thinks his musical tastes make him superior to everyone else simply because most people don’t know about it or care.

I would be more concerned that I was attracting wannabes into my circle of friends.

I think you’re just trying to make something completely subjective objective.

Matt is a douche, because he is hipster.

is this guy a bro?

This O’ sweet Jeebus…THIS ^^^

This is a weird ass post. Is this the first time you’ve encountered people with different tastes and preferences?

Stop praying games.

I mean I have some buddies who I hit up local bars/sports bars but would never step into a club. I have another group of friends who only like going to clubs. I don’t get what you mean by douchey.
