you’ll get it next time
Yea, not stressing about it, 405 will come when I actually prepare to take it.
Hell yeah it did man, nice!
Wow, awesome front squatting. I think you definitely would have had 385, so I imagine 405 is not far away.
Super hype music man ![]()
If you can’t lift to Waxahatchee can you really lift?
Thanks! My thought process was, definitely have 375, probably can get 385, don’t care about 395, might as well go for broke. I think a few weeks of technique and quad work and i’ll be there. Plan on signing up for a gym again once the move happens so I can get access to machines that make quad work easier.
Awesome front squatting!
Shoulder warmup, 50 jumping jacks
Back
Trap DL: 150 x 5, 240 2 x 5, 330 x 5, 380 3x8
Tri pulldown: 35 3x10
Rope curl: 35 3x10
Straight lat pulldown: 35 3x10
Seated concentration curl: 30 3x10
Overhead band SA tricep: 1x20
Rope row: 115 3 x 10
Simple but solid, thought I was doing 360 on deadlifts, glad it was 380 because those were tough. Might go down and do pullups and some other random stuff later. Think I’m getting some crossover between trap DLs and front squats, now that I think about it.
Got a quick one in, going to a cabin this weekend just out of town with some friends as a going away celebration.
Shoulders/leg accessory
shoulder warmup
Axle OHP: 80 x 10, 120 x 10, 140 x 10, 150 x 10 (clean first rep of each)
Lateral/front raises: 3x10
RDL: 150 2x10, 220 x 10 (no belt)
Upright row: 70 2x10
Facepulls: 2x40 (1x10 pronated, 1x20 supinated, 1x10 pronated)
BSS: 2x10
Assisted Pullups: 1x10
Not a ton of work but done quickly enough that it got the heart rate up. Going to have a full deload over this long weekend, come back and hit it hard for another 8 or so days then have a few week break while the movers drive my stuff across the country. May signup for a gym the first day I get there.
Back from the weekend, wasn’t the worst in terms of diet and drinking, definitely a bit off today but was ready to lift.
Shoulder warmup, 1 mile walk
Bench: 135 x 10, 185 x 5, 225 x 5, 275 x 5, 315 x 2, 335 x 5 (pr), 225 x 12
Tricep pulldowns/overheads: 3x10 red band, 2x15 black band
BB row: 135 2x15, 155 2x15
DB row: 52.5 2x12
Meadows row: 45 3x10
Axle curl: 50 2x20, 120 x 5
Band reverse/regular curls: 2x10
Pullups, green band: 2x8 (regular bar), 1x6 (fat bar)
Had an extra guy in the garage today for a total of 5, which is at least 2 too many. Was down there for 90 min and just kept doing random things, ended up getting in a solid back workout and was shocked to hit 335 for 5, rep 4 sucked ass but I had a spot so decided to try 5, was a real grinder, my mid back started cramping but got it up. Did 225 immediately after unracking that weight, which explains the lack of reps there. Will hit FS and shoulder accessory tomorrow.
That’s a strong bench dude
nice pr
Thanks dudes, should be on pace to get 4 plates by the end of the year, if not sooner. Might try and load it up with the slingshot sooner rather than later.
Didn’t lift the last two days, stomach has been a mess but realistically I just didn’t want to.
Trap DL: 380 x 3, 390 x 5, 400 x 5, 410 x 5
Axle pound stone: bar x 120
DB rows, hammer curls, straight lat pulldowns, tri pulldowns, tri kick backs
Wasn’t feeling it today either, need to get the stomach working again but realistically that’s a few weeks away, will just try and manage until I get more stability
Stomach bug or what?
Nah, i have ibs or something similar.
Too much info about GI distress trigger warning:
I essentially have diarrhea unless I actively restrict my diet to low fodmap (short chain carbs, essentially) foods, which I’ve been doing a terrible job at. Usually looks like 4-5 BMs before noon and sometimes a few after which leaves me exhausted and hungry/dehydrated which leads to overeating and poor food choices during the evening. It’s a pretty rough cycle with the going away celebrations and what not, glad I’ll be able to get back into a routine next month.
Ah, that sounds awful. I can relate, at least in the past. I don’t eat grains (except white rice) or legumes. Gluten messes with me too much to even think about experimenting with it ever again, and I experiment with dairy, like, once every 1.5 years. A lot of people think it’s restrictive, and it is compared to the Standard American Diet, but I’d rather not feel awful like you describe.
Have you ever tried going to events with your own dishes, which you know are “safe” to supplement what’s there? I imagine that has crossed your mind before, but IBS should not be taken lightly.
Yea, when I’m in a routine I usually try and eat before or at least get food that is going to be close safe. Will probably go on the prescribed elimination diet when I get to the new place, or shortly thereafter
Gf was involved in a hit and run, she’s fine (physically), the bumper and fog lights on her car are fucked. A few people witnessed it so we have a description of the car. Really shitty timing since we’re supposed to be driving the car across country at the end of the week. Couple worse case scenarios are we either leave a few days later while the car is getting fixed or she flies ahead and I drive by myself. Will figure it out one way or another, just hoping insurance covers it so we’re not out a few grand.
Her last year plus has been rough, hoping shit stops hitting the fan at some point.
OHP: 115 x 10, 165 x 5, 145 x 10, 135 x 10
RDL into hang cleans: 115, 135, 185
RDL: 275 2x5, 285 2x5
Front/lateral raises, upright rows, landmine press, calf raises, bss, face pulls
Did 115 x 3 for Rdl followed immediately by 3 cleans, 3 more rdl, 3 more cleans. Kept that pattern up to 185. Kind of a fun way to do it. Did OHP with a barbell, felt weird.
