Threw the disc around for like 90 minutes, going to be full on exhausted tomorrow, 2 friends independent commented on my calves which I’ve barely been working out lol
Hell yeah man. I would love to see someone else go for it.
IMO timing rests and staying strict with them is something I’ll never get rid of and seemingly very beneficial. Might want to try that out for progressing the squats?
I normally do other work in between sets, like last workout I rotated RDLs and pull throughs between squat sets, so I have no idea what my rest time actually looks like, something I should definitely start considering though
Had a random upper session today, now have 3 other people coming to workout so it’s not the best for me when they’re there in terms of actually lifting but it’s keeping me motivated, call it a push. My legs are still sore from my Saturday session. Spring seems to be here in Seattle, still a bit cool and rainy but getting pretty regular sun and I’ve got my Covid vaccine scheduled, so things are looking up.
Shoulder warmup, 50 jumping jacks.
Bench: 255 2x8, 1x10 (maybe could’ve squeezed one more out, lost a bit here)
BB rows: 115 3x10, 185 1x6
BB shrugs; 185 3x6
Assisted pull-ups: 3x6
Some curls and light triceps.
For not feeling like lifting all day I’m pretty happy with this, also ran a few blocks with the dog after and am taking him on a couple mile walk now.
Been (binge) drinking about once a week for the last month or so and it’s definitely impacting my performance, in large part because I smoke when I drink. Going to try and cut back on that again, especially since my lifting is starting to feel good again.
Shoulder warmup, 60 jumping jacks
Axle OHP: 130 3x10
Hang cleans: 125 3x8 (god my conditioning sucks)
Face pulls: 4x10
front/lateral raises: 3x10
BSS: 2x10
SL RDL: 2x10
Band Pull through: 2x10, 1x15
Everything was moving well, tried to keep working essentially the entire session but had a few breaks after the cleans where I was breathing pretty hard. Good workout overall, I think this single leg work is providing some stability and strength benefits, going to keep it in.
Had to go into work today so I decide I’d make a gym trip too. Had a fun session, headphones died on my last set, thankfully no sooner.
Incline bench: 185 3x10 (pretty fatigued in the chest/shoulder region)
Wide neutral pulldown: 130 3x12
Chest supported rows: 90 3x8
Straight bar cable curls: 60 3x10
Low cable row: 100 3x10
Machine Tri extensión: 70 3x10, 1x15
DB curl super set from hell: 12.5 x10, 15x10, 20x10, 25x10, 27.5x8, clean 27.5, 25, 20x10, 15x10,12.5 x 10
30 seconds later: straight bar reverse curl 50x10, supinated 50x10
Still need to lean out but the arms aren’t getting smaller
Jelly of dem gunz
Got the shot yesterday, had a few beers (no smoking) with some friends to celebrate, glad I was able to moderate my intake . Arm is feeling sore from the vaccine but no other sides, which I’m grateful for. I think I’ve lifted 5 of the last 6 days so today is an off day.
Decided i’d take a 3+ mile walk for lunch through the arboretum, ended up jogging for 10 min of it, wasn’t pretty but it’s a step in the right direction.
Think that’s more of an issue with the second dose
Yea, for sure. Gf was fine on dose 1 but was miserable on the 2nd so I’m aware I’m not out of the woods. The last medication (Lamictal) I took they told me I might have an immune response to put me in the ER though, so I’m celebrating anyway lol
Friends came over did a leg/shoulder session. Another really nice day in Seattle, going to rest and eat a bit then take a few mile walk. Feeling pretty tired today, I’ve had fewer carbs than normal, the majority coming from an apple, so I’m not sure if that is influencing it or if the vaccine is having an impact 36-48 hours later. Nothing worth being concerned about, just interesting.
Shoulder Warmup, Face pulls
BS: 205 5x10
Band pull throughs: 3x10
BSS: 1x10 (this was at the end of the workout, foot started cramping, so I bailed. Probably lack of electrolytes.)
Front/Lateral band raises: 3x10
Hang cleans: 135 3x8
BB Shrugs: 225 2x10 (straps)
Trap bar OHP: 110 2x10 (these are much harder than an axle or barbell, not sure I liked it, felt risky)
Pretty solid workout overall, squats were tiring but felt better form wise, conditioning wise, and strength wise. The mile or so I ran yesterday didn’t play a factor into my leg performance at all. Probably should’ve hit RDLs, might hit those and some landmine presses after my walk but I’ll probably just save the energy for a solid bench day tomorrow. Feeling good overall!
I get foot cramps about half the time I do BSS. Painful indeed…
I wonder what it is, my friend that was over said he gets them regularly as well. Must be something about how the foot is stretched, I usually get close to having them and need to adjust without them impacting my set but they got me good today.
Do you tie your shoes super tightly?
Not really, I guess I’ve never considered how tightly I tie my shoes compared to, well, anything. You think that might affect the cramping? I’ll try and remember to loosen them up as an experiment
Yeah, that alleviates the issue a little bit for me. Maybe even try doing them shoeless.
That would encourage me to use the ShopVac I purchased explicitly to vacuum my garage…
I’m afraid I don’t understand
My garage floor is not the cleanest place in the world, I don’t want to do barefoot activity there. I bought a shopvac after buying all my lifting stuff and used it once, to lift barefoot or shoeless I should use it again but I fucking hate vacuuming
You could just wash your feet afterwards then lol
