Shiner Bock. and I don’t drink alcohol–won’t touch a drop of it. But my wife LOVES shiner, and she does cool things after a few of them.
Hoegarden, import from belgium. Very different beer, served sometimes with a lemon in it(dont know why), great taste, real easy to drink - old school. nice
Guinness is definitely my favorite. Anyone notice how many Guinness drinkers there are on here? That can’t be coincidental. I can’t drink Guinness with food though, it’s way too filling. I like Sam Adams, Corona, and Amber Bock is pretty good too. Just don’t make me drink Bud!
Johnny Bravo doesn’t drink beer. Beer leaves you with too many unwanted calories and a bad headache the next day. I prefer whiskey (canadian club) and rum. Hey, where the Bacardi at, mix it with some dirties, what’s wrong with that.
Jimmyeatworld, yes Tetley’s is excellent when well kept but this isn’t always the case. My favourite from my university days (regrettably long gone) is Timothy Taylor’s Landlord. Superb - hoppy, flowery, nectar… P.S. T-men drink brown beer. Fizzy yellow stuff is for woofters.
For any of you Colorado T-men, Odell’s Easy Street is the best. I also enjoy Blue Moon and Guinness, as for cheap beer I go for the silver bullet.
I like some of the wheat ales… I tried this sampler of micro-brews at MonteCarlo in Vegas a while back which was pretty good. I also enjoy the taste of Moosehead.
I heard that Budvar (lit. “the beer for kings”) got sued by Budweiser for copying their name when they were setting up their import license to the states. Budvar then came back with
“well, lets see, we’ve been brewing beer since before 1500… budweiser came along about 300 years later” hehehe.
PS. What do y’all think is a good beer to kick it at your place when you have a girl over? I’m in the states.
Most girls I know don’t really like beer. They prefer mixed drinks. If they do drink beer, they prefer lighter-tasting beers. I’ve never seen a girl who went wild over a hoppy India Pale Ale. Most women would probably like Japanese beer like Asahi Superdry or Kirin.
I’m a newbie in posting like “meathead” but I’m gonna have to say Budweiser but not just a regular Budweiser but an ICE COLD Budweiser and I’m a semi-ex-micro-brew drinker.
I don’t mean to pick you out Mr. Shugart but you’re like a “teacher” but I believe Arnold (the man is like Madonna-one name recognition)said in “Pumping Iron” that “babies drink milk, real men drink beer.”
Do you guys all say guiness because its a “manly” beer or do you really like it. I had it a few times at home and didn’t like it. Then i went to england and it was all i drank in the pubs. On tap it tastes so much better I think. It seems like there was quite a difference or maybe i was just older.
The days I’m watching my figure -Amstel light,
otherwise give me a Bass Ale or a Heineken;-)
