BEER

Glad to see so many Guiness drinkers on the board. I myself can’t get enough of the stuff. If you like Guiness try a Caffrey’s. Same as Guiness except its tan in coulor and has a less bitter aftertaste. Next time your enjoying your favorite Guiness pint, drop a shot glass filled with half Jameson and half Baileys into the glass. Let it sink to the bottom, then chug it down. Ahhh the Irish Car Bomb. Yummy!

For me it depends on the season and the occasion. I wouldn’t drink Guinness at a lawn party, it would be more like Corona. My favorite beer would be a black and gold (Guinness and Cafferys), if there is no Cafferys then I will settle for a black and tan.

The hops also determine the quality of the head (sure that will spark a comment). Guiness is a great beer, but for other occassions Vitzen wins hands down. I don’t drink alot of beer anymore, but when I do, its always a different one from some micro-brewery. Much better quality than the big company’s mass produced beer. There are tons of Micro-breweries in Canada… they are just coming back in the States… Before prohibition small breweries flourished. After that idiotic era only some of the bigger ones returned to brewing. During the second world war beer was tageted at women then in the work force. I don’t mean to fault women’s tastes, but large American beer brands suck! (Just a few tid bits from the useless information file)

One other thing I wanted to mention… Some beer makers (home brewers anyway) may use licorice to increase the head retention characteristics of the beer.

Licorice is known to lower Testosterone, but I don’t know if the amount used in beer is a concern. (How can something thats good for “HEAD” be bad for testosterone!)

Killians, Guiness and Bass Ale:)!!

Czechvar (the original Budweiser), Pilsner Urquell, Gambrinus, Vaclav, Bass Ale, New Castle, Samual Adams, Samual Smith’s Old Brewed Pale Ale, Harp, Tsingtao, Warstiner, Guiness, Dos Equis, Modelo Negro, XXXX, St. Pauli Girl, Grolsh(sp?),etc… These are all my favorite beers. I like beer, it makes me work out harder so I can afford to drink it.

Give me MGD or give me death! I can get a case of eighteen for $10 if I find a decent sale and that is all that matters for me at this stage in life.

Well, I certainly have an opinion on this topic and it goes as follows For just a beer or two to relax, Guinness or Sierra Nevada, arguably my favorite beers. For Drinkin the night away, PBR, the BR stands for Good. Hot days Corona, watchin football Michelob or Coors, Driving Whiskey just kidding, jeez. SteelyEyes, Fat Tire, man am I over that stuff, try the Odell’s line.

Budvar, check beer…no impurities, no hangover. Well worth the trip, but i guess its too far to go for you lot over there in the US to travel for beer…or is it?

If you’re after cheap beer, Milwaukee’s Beast would be my choice. If you live in Texas, Texas Pride used to be two buck a six pack–I don’t know how much it sells for now.

Anchor steam
Guinness
Grolsch (spelling)- the darker one not the hoppy one

I heard something a while back that Guiness does not lower testosterone levels, due somehow to either the way they make it, or the ingredient they use to make it. I don’t know if it’s true or not. But, Guiness sucks ass anyway. It’s like drinking a blended up big mac. I go with heineken or some sam adams. By the way, I don’t know if it’s a great thing to do, but once in a while, I’ll throw down a dymetadrine extreme an hour before I go out. I’ll get the the bar, have 2 drinks and I’m good for the night. I think somehow they work synergistically, even though their properties are antagonistic. Works for me though, less beer, more good feelings.

Hey RossBoss! I have great news for you (if you live in the US. Budvar has finally made it to the US. It is called Czechvar as exampled in my last post. It’s good to see another person acknowlege Czech beer as the superior brews. I have been waiting for over a Decade for Budvar to make it here…it is beautiful!!!

BUD ICE MESSES ME UP GOOD. VERY GOOD BEER!

I’m a pilsner fan, as long as it’s not american. Pilsner Urquell import is nothing like what you get in Prague, Hyok. I highly recommend a trip there if you have the cance. And while it is one of my favorite beers, it still can’t hold a candle to Budvar - the original Czech Budweiser from which the American company stole its name. Try the Bud Super Strong (7.5%) - it’s the only beer I like better than the Belgian Trappists.
My third favorite is Wuerzburger Hofbrau, which as far as I know is only served around Wuerzburg, Germany. A very hoppy pilsner.

has anyone out there in the us tasted beers like alexander keiths ale, or creemore springs ale, or moosehead beer. if you havent these are exquisite canadian treats and i would suggest trying them asap

If any of you ever get a chance to go up to Washington state, try some FAT TIRE. Shit fucking great. It is a micro brew and it is worth a shot. If you like your beer so thick that you have to cut it with a knofe and eat it with a fork then thry have you covered. They have some stuff lighter than, but for the most part they only have darker stuff.

If you can stand a fork in it, its just right. I like my beer dark and strong, just like my coffee. We have a pretty good microbew here, Butterfields Tower Dark. I also like Guiness. On those rare occasions I due drink a lighter beer, its another Butterfields, Bridalveil Ale. As far as Bud, Coors, Miller, etc…well, lets just say its just carbonated water.

Bud Light! Or anything that tastes like beer-flavored water.

Tetley’s bitter, hand pull. There is no alterntive. But I bet you americans have never even heard of it.
