Beer Thread

Allagash Dubbel…always tasty. Split this 750ml with the wife last weekend…

Edit: I just scrolled up the thread and realized I DID in fact post the Dubbel we cracked last week in this thread…sorry.

Steely, you mentioned DogFish Head earlier. Here’s a shot of the Red and White Renee and I are enjoying right now. It’s a big, Belgian style wit brewed with coriander & orange peel with pinot noir juice concentrate added, with 11% of the batch aged in pinot noir barrels and 89% aged on oak barrel staves.

I think I like this better than the Black and Blue we drank the other night…further back in this thread…
I’m envious so many Americans have such great access to beers like that. In Canada you can only get the DFH 60 mins, and even that is hard to find!
You know, for some reason we don’t get the 60 Minute in SC…but we get the 90 Minute. I actually prefer the 60 and am looking forward to the day it is distributed here.
Interesting. I have tried both recently and for me, the 90 minute is far superior. Some others that I have really enjoyed lately:

Breckenridge 471 IPA
Hop Stoopid (3.99 for a bomber, deal of the century)
Stone Ruination

Edit: I live in Texas, and I hate Shiner Bock. Tastes like watered down carmel. Most boring attempt at an interesting beer I have ever tried.
The 90 is a good beer…it just leans more towards the Barleywine end of the DIPA spectrum with that malty back bone. The 60 is a bit more hop forward and not quite as sweet…especially when fresh.

Just cracked open this Dubbel…damn smooth.

Allagash Dubbel boasts a dark mahogany color with ruby hues and a complex malty taste. The finish is dry with subtle hints of chocolate and nuts.
Is that your house? Red wall looks nice. She Say and I tried paining a wall red…didn’t work.

YUM!

This.

Smooth texture.

Roasted coffee/chocolate overtones

Smooth heavy finish.

Great head. I love some great head with my beer.

good shit Maynard

Yep…that’s the front foyer. It only works well because the foyer is so wide. If it were more narrow that color would have made it feel like a cave.

anyone else having the Dogfish Head Punkin Beer this time of year?

At 21 aren’t you supposed to start the night with all the random shots your friends give you then be too drunk to remember any beer you drink, not sit at home and drink fancy beers.

I live in Flagstaff we have probably 9 microbreweries in town and most of the bars have craft beer…that is why, plus I already do the random shots my friends gave me on any given night, and I am not fan of getting shit faced because it cost too much money.

Hurry brother it usually runs out around halloween…Check www.dogfish.com and poke around looking for their “Fish finder” that will tell you where the closest retailer is to you

any of you guys fans of Flying Dog ales out there? Me and a few of my buddies toured the brewery last year before they stopped doing it…was definitely a good time…

Found one across the street from my dorm :).

AWESOME beers by them man, and since it is so close you can stumble back and fourth plenty of times if you run out!
